NETWORK NEWS

We are delighted to welcome many new members to the World Trails Network so far this year, as we continue to grow and connect with each other for the betterment of trails.

Trails have played an important role during the pandemic, in some regions giving local communities access to nature and the outdoors, and encouraging healthy activities with the whole family. Other regions have suffered immensely due to the financial loss of international tourism, with many such destinations still closed.

How we navigate our futures together is what the World Trails Network is here to support, engaging in conversations and creating opportunities to learn from and with each other. In our snap-shot survey we would love your input on how the pandemic has influenced your trails.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS
Lebanon Mountain Trail
Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, as well as significant economic and financial turmoil in the country, the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association (LMTA) has remained strongly committed to preserving the national trail and assisting the trail-side communities.

In need to fundraise differently, the Association adopted the global trend of remote, virtual events. The LMTA Virtual Hike was held by inviting communities around the world to join online, in a 12-day hike of the Trail, through the online stories, videos, pictures and live feeds of volunteer hikers and through sharing themselves audiovisual material from their own hikes, from wherever they were.
