February 2021 Latest News & Stock Update
Welcome To Our Latest Update...
Welcome to our 1st newsletter of 2021 which if we are honest is rather belated and for that we offer our apologies. We would like to start off by extending our Happy New Year wishes to you all and of course lets hope 2021 proves to be a better year for us all than 2020 was.

Within the content of this newsletter you will find a brief update around the activities of S & S Timms, the latest news regarding the current antiques fairs calendar, a brief introduction to our easy reference "Furniture Periods & British Monarchs Guide" and of course we will present some of the latest stock we have available for sale to you.

Our website can of course as always be viewed here https://www.timmsantiques.com and enquiries can be made via info@timmsantiques.com or by calling us on 01525 719300 so if you see anything at all of interest, or indeed just fancy a chat or quick catch up then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us and we will be happy to help.
Latest News...
Despite being surprisingly busy throughout the 2nd half of 2020 we also tried to use our extra time in lockdown as productively as possible by finally getting round to doing those jobs we normally just don't find the time for. One of these such jobs was making some tweaks to the design of our website and adding some extra features, including making it transactional, easier to navigate and most importantly changing our hosting and maintenance arrangements and contracts, giving us total flexibility in the functionality of it allowing us to ensure it is always entirely totally up to date. If you haven't had a look for a while, or even if you have recently visited then why not head on over and have a peruse, there is always plenty of content there for you to have a look at.

In other news we have been working hard throughout the various national lockdowns and restrictions and are delighted that we have been able to secure a relatively regular stream of good fresh stock to offer for sale. We have met and done business with (virtually of course!) lots of new, as well as existing customers throughout the past few months and remain positive for the future ahead, especially now that here in the UK in particular the rollout of various vaccines appears to be proceeding at great pace. We look forward very much indeed to the day when we are all able to go about our business in person with each other and we are able to show you, our clients, all of our wonderful pieces in person.

We have also spent some time focusing hard on our social media accounts and if you want to stay absolutely totally up to date with the goings on at S & S Timms (and to a lesser extent Robbie's home life!) then these are the places to do it.

Fairs & Events...
We wanted to take this opportunity to update you regarding any developments around future antiques fairs and exhibitions, which many of you will be aware we are normally regular exhibitors at many of.

In previous years we would actually be applying the finishing touches to our stand at The Palm Beach Show right now ready for the opening night preview party, however after the onset of the Covid pandemic we find ourselves in the rather strange position of The Palm Beach Show 2020 actually being the last full event we were able to exhibit at a whole year ago. We did of course also attempt to stand at The Open Art Fair which opened its doors last March and was curtailed after just 2 days when the pandemic began to really bite.

Since then it has not been possible, nor practical for any antiques fairs to run and as things stand, even when taking into account the success of the vaccine programme it still appears to be almost impossible for any organisers to take the risk of attempting to plan an event which may, or may not be able to go ahead. The fact of the matter is that the larger events nearly always take 6 - 12 months of meticulous planning on the part of both organisers and exhibitors and this therefore makes it impractical all round to be making any advance plans as things stand. We will of course however keep you posted with any news, of any kind regarding any fairs which are planned, as soon as we have it and really can't wait to get back out there meeting all of our friends and clients once again.
