New Year, New Programs!

Thanks to our friends at the Rotary Club of the Upper Main Line for their continued volunteer service and a generous grant to help pay for our new hood and ventilation system at the HEART Kitchen.

Letter from the Director

Dear Phoenixville Family & Friends,

A new year is a fresh start on the calendar, full of hope and potential.

This year is especially exciting for us. Our mission to provide a place of welcome and human services to the people of Phoenixville led us to a significant building restoration project. At the end of last year, we opened the doors of this new and improved building that we lovingly named the HEART for its use by the community. Our doors are now open to you and we encourage you to use the space at the HEART to build and grow through education.

With Gratitude,
Kristen McGee
Executive Director

HEART Update

The renovation of the HEART has opened up so many opportunities for us to make a difference in the community.  This year, we have BIG plans to build on those opportunities.

Pay It Forward Cafe’ (PIFC) Series

On Sunday January 24th, we served our first PIFC meal of Spaghetti & Meatballs to 212 people thanks to the support of our friends at the Phoenixville Jaycees, Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS), Kimberton Whole Foods, and many donors.

If you are unfamiliar with our new PIFC series, it aims to utilize the HEART Kitchen to provide free community meals, while offering the opportunity to make a donation (if you are able) as a way to 'pay it forward' to the next meal/program. PIFC meals are available to anyone and everyone!

Join us for our next PIFC event on Sunday, February 21st for Pot Pie Night!

Code Blue Update

BY THE NUMBERS

The Code Blue Center opened its doors on November 16th for its sixth season. Since opening, we have served 31 guests (including one family) thanks to the amazing support of our staff, volunteers, partners, and donors.

Our Code Blue Center has been set up to serve our neighbors in need with all COVID-19 safety precautions.

A New Partnership

Our Code Blue program is pleased to introduce our new partner, Sarah Davis of Open Hearth. Sarah has been providing housing case management services for our guests this season and has been working with them to determine best route forward for housing and other services. Welcome to our Code Blue team, Sarah!

A Supportive Community

Our Center is powered by the generosity of volunteers and donors. Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers and donors for your help in building a place of hope for those in need. We’d especially like to thank the many community groups, organizations and companies that provided grants or coordinated large drives and fundraisers for our Code Blue Program so far this winter.

New Role, New Face

One year and one pandemic later we are excited to share that Heather is now a full-time member of the Ann's Heart team as she has accepted the position of Program Manager.

Over the last year she has leapt over every challenge and helped to make the incredible transformation at the HEART possible.

Congratulations to Heather on her new role!
With all our new programs comes the need for more staff support!

We are excited to welcome Lizbeth Julian, our new part-time Office Manager, to the Ann's Heart team!

Lizbeth has been actively volunteering and supporting the work of our organization for several years. She brings to the team a strong background in business management, passion for the Phoenixville community, and talent as a bi-lingual speaker, fluent in both English and Spanish.

Year End Giving Update

During the 2020 Year End Giving season, you helped us raise over $40,000! This is $12,000 more than we raised in 2019 through our year end appeal. We are truly grateful for your generosity and look forward to sharing our progress updates as we strive to operate and improve the spaces and services at Ann's Heart. Your donations are what drive us forward. Thank you!
