Inexpressible and Glorious Joy Minister's Letter/View from the Pew: Joss Heap
I know with great certainty that I am not the only person who had a rough year in 2020. In many ways, I think we could all agree that last year brought a lot of hurt and suffering to our lives. Missing out on church gatherings, being separated from family, losing loved ones, the list goes on and looks different for everyone.
Personally, getting engaged proved to be one of my biggest challenges of 2020 (who would've thought!). Covid really threw a spanner in the works that derailed all expectations of this period of life. From physical separation to postponing a wedding, I found myself frustrated and upset that everything was not playing out as I had imagined. I had never felt such compulsion to trust wholeheartedly in God's timing...
Afternoon Tea- Parents of Youth & Kids Sunday February 21, 2:30-4pm You're invited to the annual Afternoon Tea for Parents & Caregivers of Youth & Kids at St Michael’s. There will be COVID-safe procedures in place, click here for the Flyer.
Growth Groups This year we will ask everyone to sign up electronically for a group, even if it's the same group you were in last year. Growth groups are an important part of our discipleship pathway- reflecting our desire for all Christians to be established & growing in the faith (Colossians 2:6-7), & an important part of the way we care for one another. Sign-up here!
Carpark On Sundays, for the safety of everyone on-site (especially our children), please avoid parking between the Cathedral courtyard and Hall. We are also looking for volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9-10:30 (you could do part of that time) to help manage our carpark while ministries are happening. Let us know if you'd like to help out in this way.
Men's Event Saturday 27 February, 8-9:30am
The Men of St Michael's are having a BBQ Breakfast at North Beach Lagoon on Saturday, February 27 from 8-9:30am. This event is an opportunity to be encouraged as we get to know men who are at various ages & stages of life over a meal and activities. Breakfast will include bacon, eggs, rolls, hash browns & cold drinks (vegetarian & GF options available)! Consider joining us as we all need the support of Godly men as we transverse through life.
Kids Kollide Saturday February 27, 4-5:30pm Kids Kollide, our annual children’s outreach event, is aimed at providing a space to invite primary aged children and their parents onto the church property for games, drama, creativity and pizza! But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to be inviting and welcoming those from our community into our shared home (aka the church hall). We hope to provide an afternoon tea with barista coffee and treats on the lawn. Don’t miss out!
