Executive Director’s note:
I can't thank those of you enough whom attend our Constitution Classes weekly. I can't thank those of you enough who stay up late to participate in our Townhall Meeting. I can't thank those of you enough who send replies to the Newsletter each week. YOU keep us going.
This week I come to you with yet another ASK. We have so many plans, so many exciting ideas and programs in our information pipeline to place in front of our Governing board for approval. What we lack is manpower and 29 hour day extensions - certain prayers aren't answered the way we wish. We need YOU.
Yesterday, while caretaking Donald & Flynn the #Ducksof1776 I proceeded about my hurried way on my day off after 23 straight days of work. I told my kids we should order dinner then realized I lost my device. I had a choice of going two ways: laugh or cry. What if Dr. Cordie called? What if my kid at work needs me? What if the other kid gets stranded on the side of the road or has an emergency at work?
Then I heard: Peace be still.
I decided the dry pasta & jarred sauce would do. That my kids are fine - I survived my 20s! That Dr. Cordie would figure out I would get back to him - I always do. Then I folded laundry that had been on the corner of my bed for at least a week, unpacked my suitcase from DC, brushed two of the cats and cleaned out dust bunnies in the places my phone could have possibly vanished. Then I prayed to my Higher Power for clarity of mind and peace in my soul; to vanquish all frantic energy with gratitude for this moment to pause, accomplish and clear my home and thoughts, literally.
My device was located after several hours - at the bottom of the make shift duck pond. What a gift.
The moral of this story is I'm a horrible example, but a committed prayer. I'm exhausted but energized. I have drive and feel purpose in this Mission of Doc's and Chris' and am very grateful for it, but taking breaks to refresh and renew and be still are equally important.
MY ASK.
Please lend your time, your talent, your skills, your platforms, your voices.
Please volunteer.
Please donate if you can't volunteer.
Please share this Newsletter with a dozen new friends if you can't donate.
Please follow Dr. Cordie, please pray for all of us.
YOU drive this Mission.
