Sensity is excited to share that we are embarking on a journey to become accredited.
What does that mean? It means that Sensity is pursuing accreditation through a partnership with an organization called FOCUS Accreditation.
The FOCUS Standards program provides agencies like Sensity with a system that helps improve our culture and practices in meaningful ways with a focus on high quality service for the people we support and continuous improvement in our programs and services.
To learn more about accreditation, visitwww.focusaccreditation.organd watch for invitations to upcoming presentations on accreditation from Elizabeth Winchester, Manager of Quality Assurance & Innovation.
Sensity is grateful to the Brant Community Foundation for its continued support of our programming. In late December we learned we would receive a grant for $5,000.
Sensity would like to acknowledge the Brant United Way and the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund for financial support to help us respond to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deafblind communities worldwide and Sensity locations all over Ontario, will be Yarn Bombing a designated community space, or object.
This will raise awareness, engage members of the Deafblind community, and symbolizes the coming together of all people in the field of Deafblindness.
What is yarn bombing? It is a type of visual art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk. Often wrapped around an object. Yarn Bombing can occur on anything from a tree to a fence, or a car. I have attached some examples in this email.
What you can do? All individuals are asked to knit or crochet a square to be attached to the item that is being yarn bombed.
What if I don’t knit or crochet? No worries! We will be having some activities in the months leading up to June teaching you how to knit or crochet.
What if I don’t want to learn? That is fine! We want everyone at Sensity to be involved, so even if you chose to use one strand of yarn and wrap it around the tree in your own way, you can!
Calling all knitters - We need your help!
Whether its to donate items or if you wanted to volunteer to lead a knit/crochet activity please reach out to Special Projects Intervenor, Katrina at activity@sensity.ca or Communications & Events Coordinator, Samantha Gaspar at SGaspar@sensity.ca.
