Waarde leden,
Het is alweer tijd voor de nieuwe Nieuwsbrief. Het is februari en dat betekent dat de helft van het collegejaar en mijn bestuursjaar er nu op zit. Alhoewel ik nog steeds geniet van mijn jaar, hoop ik toch dat de tweede helft nog wat leuker is. Ik hoop voor iedereen dat de wereld ons dat gunt. De laatste nieuwsbrief is natuurlijk niet lang geleden, maar ik ga proberen weer het begin van de maand aan te houden als verstuurmoment. Ondanks dat deze nieuwsbrief snel volgt heb ik toch weer wat nieuwtjes voor iedereen, dus pak een snack, iets te drinken en ga er lekker voor zitten.
We hebben anderhalve week geleden de januari ALV gehad. Op deze ALV zijn er een aantal belangrijke punten ingestemd en ik wilde iedereen via deze weg op de hoogte stellen. Alle ter stemming gebrachte punten zijn ingestemd. Het jaarverslag en financieel overzicht van het 94ste zijn beiden ingestemd, ik denk dat het gepast is om het 94ste te feliciteren met hun laatste wapenfeit. Zoals mijn voorganger ooit zei: hulde! De HR-wijziging waar Sam voor heeft gezwoegd is ook ingestemd, bedankt voor het harde werk. De vereniging is er weer een stukje duidelijker op geworden. Ook de Sollicitatiecommissie en hun plan is ingestemd! We wensen de Sollicitatiecommissie succes met het aankomende proces. Het laatste punt wat is ingestemd is voor de meerderheid van de lezers het belangrijkste punt en dus wil ik het even iets uitgebreider bespreken, ik zal dit later in de nieuwsbrief doen. Dit gaat om de contributieverhoging. Er is ingestemd met een contributieverhoging, dit zorgt ervoor dat de contributie vanaf volgend verenigingsjaar €20 bedraagt. Hier dus later meer over.
Er staat weer een spannende tijd op de stoep voor de vereniging. De Sollicitatiecommissie is zoals net genoemd ingestemd. Dit betekent dat de vacatures voor het 96ste bestuur sinds donderdag 21 januari geopend zijn. Op de site staat alles wat je moet weten als je wil solliciteren. De deadline van de briefsollicitatie is op 18 februari. Dit betekent dat het proces zich iets later in het jaar zal afspelen. De prognose is dat er een nieuw KKB klaar staat om begin april gepresenteerd te worden.
Op de ALV hebben we ook als bestuur aangegeven dat de lustrumweek verplaatst wordt naar de week van 21 juni. Het gala zal op de 22ste plaatsvinden, markeer deze dag dus alvast in je agenda! Deze maand zullen we ook weer een aantal mooie activiteiten hebben. Ik zal deze later in de agenda even uitlichten.
2 februari starten we de maand met een lezing over de geschiedenis van wijn, georganiseerd door de Historische Evenementen Commissie. Op 11 februari staat de Movie Night van de Lustrumcommissie op de agenda, of deze doorgaat is nog de vraag. We houden iedereen hierover op de hoogte. Op 18 februari hebben we het Language Café van de International Committee. 19 februari wordt door de UBO de jaarlijkse Research Parade georganiseerd.
Deze Nieuwsbrief hebben we allemaal een kort stukje geschreven over hoe ons eerste half jaar als bestuur was. Zo krijg je ondanks alles toch een kijkje in de wereld van het Coronabestuur.

De Bestuursupdate:
Sam: Het eerste half jaar was natuurlijk een vreemd jaar. Veel kon niet doorgaan en wij hebben overal een mouw aan moeten passen, maar voor mij als secretaris veranderde er eigenlijk niet zoveel. Al mijn taken gingen, op het archief van de UHSK, onverminderd door. Ik heb ontzettend genoten van mijn bestuursjaar tot nu toe en ik denk dat het alleen nog maar mooier kan worden. Ik kijk uit naar het Futurum.
Livia:
Als penningmeester werk je vooral achter de schermen. Ondanks dat er helaas veel minder activiteiten zijn - het financieel regelen hiervan behoort tot een van de grote taken van een penningmeester - blijf ik druk bezig. Vaste contracten lopen door, fondsen moeten worden aangevraagd en gesprekjes met de penningmeesters van commissies vinden de komende weken voor de tweede keer plaats. Ik heb zin in het komende halfjaar, hopelijk kan het geld nu gaan rollen!

Doing a board year during corona is tough. Even more so when education is your main task. But even so, it has been so far a fruitful year. With the help of the UBO, I’ve launched a peer-reviewing tool, evaluated courses and assisted the department in any way I could. I’ve even organised a discussion panel with academics from around the world. I am excited for what the next six months have in store for us!
Lennart:
Het werk van de Commissaris Intern gaat normaal gesproken vooral over de gezellige kant van de vereniging: mensen verbinden, evenementen opzetten en feesten! De bijnaam Commissaris Bier was dan ook niet geheel misplaatst. ‘Het nieuwe normaal’ was eventjes wennen, maar ook ik zet hier weer vol op in. Door middel van o.a. de Commissieslag en een actieve Instagrampagina hoop ik jullie het gevoel van een vereniging-in-je-huiskamer te geven. Tot snel!
Maartje:
Mijn eerste maanden als Commissaris Extern staan vooral in het teken van het plannen, omgooien en verplaatsen van de Departementsreis. Daarnaast heb ik leuk contact met externe relaties en commissies. Ik verheug me op de fysieke activiteiten, maar houd me voor nu nog druk met mailen, bellen en online vergaderen!

De contributieverhoging is op de ALV van 20 januari ingestemd. Dit betekent niet dat de contributie van dit jaar, die nog afgeschreven moet worden, verhoogd is naar €20. Deze verandering gaat pas in bij de contributieafschrijving van het 96ste bestuur. Dit zal allemaal automatisch gaan. Mochten er wel nog vragen zijn over de verhoging, dan staat het iedereen vrij om vragen naar te sturen info@uhsk.nl.

Archiveren websiteaccounts
Al een aantal jaar is de website van de UHSK verbonden aan Congressus. Het aantal actieve websitegebruikers is de laatste jaren ook enorm gestegen, waardoor de website nu veel meer geld kost dan dat zou moeten. Daarom zullen de websiteaccounts van iedereen die vóór 2017 lid is geworden in februari gearchiveerd worden. Dit betekent dat je niet meer gebruik kan maken van het websiteaccount. Als je toch nog gebruik wilt maken van een websiteaccount, mail dan naar info@uhsk.nl nádat je websiteaccount is gearchiveerd.

Dear Members,
It is already time for the new Newsletter. It is February and that means that half of the college year and my board year is now over. Although I am still enjoying my year, I still hope that the second half is a little more fun. I hope for everyone's sake that the world grants us that. Of course, the last newsletter wasn't long ago, but I'm going to try to keep the beginning of the month as my sending time again. Even though this newsletter follows quickly, I still have some news for everyone, so grab a snack, something to drink and sit back and relax.
We had the January ALV a week and a half ago. At this ALV, a number of important items were voted on and I wanted to let everyone know through this way. All items put to the vote were approved. The 94th's annual report and financial statement were both voted on, I think it is appropriate to congratulate the 94th on their latest feat. As my predecessor once said, Hulde! The HR change that Sam toiled for was also approved, thanks for the hard work. The association has become a little clearer again. The Solicitation Committee and their plan has also been approved! We wish the Solicitation Committee success with the upcoming process. The last item that was voted on is the most important item to the majority of readers and so I want to discuss it a little more in depth, I will do this later in the newsletter. This is about the dues increase. A contribution increase has been agreed upon, this ensures that the contribution will be €20 from next year. So more on this later.
There is an exciting time ahead for the association. The Solicitation Committee has been approved as just mentioned. This means that the vacancies for the 96th board are open since Thursday, January 21. The site has everything you need to know if you want to apply. The letter application deadline is on February 18. This means that the process will take place a little later in the year. The prognosis is that a new KKB will be ready to be presented at the beginning of April.
At the ALV we also indicated as a board that the lustrum week will be moved to the week of June 21. The gala will take place on the 22nd, so mark this day already in your agenda! This month we will also have some great activities. I will highlight these later in the agenda.
February 2 we start the month with a lecture on the history of wine, organized by the Historical Events Committee. On February 11, the Movie Night of the Lustrum Committee is on the agenda, whether it will take place remains to be seen. We will keep everyone informed about this. On February 18 we have the Language Café of the International Committee. February 19, the UBO will host the annual Research Parade.
This Newsletter we have all written a short piece about what our first half year as a board was like. So despite everything, you get a glimpse into the world of the Corona Board.

The Board Update:
Sam: The first half of the year was of course a strange one. A lot couldn't go on and we had to find a way around everything, but for me as secretary, not much really changed. All my duties, on the archive of the UHSK, continued unabated. I have really enjoyed my year so far and I think it can only get better. I am looking forward to the Futurum.
Livia:
As treasurer you work mainly behind the scenes. Despite the fact that there are unfortunately far fewer activities - the financial management of which is one of the major tasks of a treasurer - I remain busy. Contracts continue to run, funds must be requested, and meetings with the treasurers of committees will take place in the coming weeks for the second time. I am looking forward to the next six months, hopefully the money can start rolling in now

The work of the Commissioner of Internal affairs is usually mainly about the social side of the association: connecting people, events and parties! The nickname Commissioner Beer was therefore not entirely misplaced. The new normal" took some getting used to, but I am also fully committed to this. By means of the Commissieslag and an active Instagram page, I hope to give you the feeling of an association in your living room. See you soon!
Maartje:
My first months as External Commissioner are mainly about planning, redirecting and moving the Department trip. In addition, I have fun interacting with external relations and committees. I'm looking forward to the physical activities, but for now I'll keep myself busy with emailing, calling and online meetings!

The contribution increase was approved at the ALV on January 20. This does not mean that this year's contribution, which has yet to be debited, has been increased to €20. This change will only take effect with the contribution write-off of the 96th board. This will all be done automatically. However, should there be any questions about the increase, everyone is free to send questions to info@uhsk.nl.

Archiving website accounts
For a number of years now, the UHSK website has been connected to Congressus. The number of active website users has also increased dramatically in recent years, so the website is now costing much more money than it should. Therefore, the website accounts of anyone who became a member before 2017 will be archived in February. This means that you will no longer be able to use the website account. If you still want to use a website account, please email info@uhsk.nl after your website account has been archived.
