Kindergarten & Open Enrollment Registration
Kindergarten and open enrollment school registration for the 2021-22 school year has begun. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible.
Kindergarten Registration
A child whose fifth birthday falls on or before Sept. 1, 2021 is eligible to enroll in kindergarten in 2021. Students in the Early Learning Center who will be going to kindergarten next year do not need to register at this time.
Families should begin the registration process online. If you have a student currently enrolled in District 54, you can register through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. If you do not have your login, please contact your child’s school. New families can begin registration through our Online Registration link. Once your application is complete, the school office will contact you to schedule your in-person appointment at the school starting Feb. 3 to present the necessary documentation.
Open Enrollment
Some District 54 families may be interested in one of the open enrollment programs offered in District 54, such as Spanish-English or Japanese-English dual language, Chinese Immersion, etc. If you missed the Open Enrollment Fair in January, you can find more links to virtual school visits, information about the programs and applications on our Open Enrollment Website. The application deadline is March 5. Your child must be registered for kindergarten in order to be considered for an open enrollment program.
EL Kinder Information Night
Is your soon-to-be kindergarten student also an English Learner? Join us at 6 p.m. Feb. 16, 2021 via Zoom to learn more about how English Learner (EL) services are provided in District 54 and the testing process for incoming students. The live presentation will be in English, but when you join on Zoom, you will be able to access recordings of the night’s information in Spanish, Japanese and Polish.
