Brother <<Last Name>>,

Deke Fire Burning Brightly

On behalf of the Delta Chi DKE Alumni Association and our undergraduate brothers at 13 South Avenue, I would like to wish you all the best for 2021.  Last year has been a struggle for all of us, whether it’s dealing with a multitude of social and economic palpitations endemic in our society, ensuring the health and safety of our friends and families during a worldwide health pandemic, or recalibrating personal expectations for finding the joy and fulfillment in life while in-person social gathering and travel remain problematic.  I’m very happy to report to you that our Deke family has made it through 2020 in great spirits, whether its alums getting together to socialize via Zoom or undergraduates building lifelong bonds while socially confined to the lodge at 13 South Avenue.

My year has been greatly enhanced by the stories I hear of alums reaching out to one another during this time.  Whether it’s a pledge class, a graduation class, or a band of brothers across years checking on the health or wellbeing of their friends from the heart forever, I have never been more encouraged by the strength of brotherly bonds that we Deke’s share.

I am also thrilled to say that the very same about our undergraduate brethren who right now are building lifelong friendships with their fellow Deke brothers in a social and health environment that none of us ever witnessed in our years on the hill.  Their attention to the day-to-day responsibilities of personal study, communal living, and efforts to recruit a next generation of Dekes have demonstrated that the Deke spirit still thrives at Cornell.

We’re getting the year off to an exciting start by announcing that we’ve updated our website with new information and reorganized the information to make it easier to navigate.  The other advantage for our members is that you get access to contact information on other brothers as well as past issues of the Delta Chi Deke.  And we’ve got plans to add more helpful and fun information now that this new version of the website is live.

Our alumni association’s continual efforts with the undergraduates and on behalf of alumni is partially funded by our dues-paying members.  One way to show support for the continuation of DKE at Cornell and the efforts of the alumni board is to pay you annual dues.  This also gives you the opportunity to vote on the leadership of our organization at our annual meeting held in June.
Our website, dke-cornell.org offers an easy way for you to pay your dues.  If you can, please consider paying at the higher level and become a member of the Delta Chi Society. To pay your dues to the Delta Chi Association (a one-time gift),

Once again, at the end of a challenging year for all of us, I thank you for your dedication to DKE, your continued maintenance of the bonds of brotherhood, and the support you provide for generations of Dekes to come.
