It's a winter of adventure in Sandpoint, Idaho!

Still socially distanced ...

As our outdoor winter fun rolls on!

Sandpoint is a lake and mountain town that appeals to all sorts of enthusiasts ... skiers and boarders, mountain bikers, and more. With the pandemic still hanging on, it's good to know that outdoor adventures here continue to connect us to nature. Fishing charters ply the waters of Lake Pend Oreille year-round, and there are numerous cross-country ski trail options within a few miles' drive of downtown. The snowmobile scene keeps growing, with nearby ice fishing, skating, and more to draw us outside. And of course, we do have that awesome skiing and boarding (more on that, below). Time to hit the slopes

If you haven't been to Schweitzer Mountain Resort yet this season, get your skis loaded up because the 2020-2021 winter season is already halfway over! Conditions are great, all the lifts are spinning (as of presstime, Feb. 3) ... and there are some storms rolling in this week. Even if you're not a skier, there is a Let It Glow! Fireworks Show next Sunday, Feb. 14 (folks are encouraged to watch from their vehicle - now what could be easier than that?). To stay on the mountain, check out the Lodging page for availability.

Dine with your Valentine

Sandpoint's absolutely filled with wonderful restaurants, breweries - even our own downtown winery! - making it the perfect place to enjoy a romantic Valentine's meal. Trinity at City Beach, on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, is an excellent culinary experience - can't go wrong with the pan-seared scallops. And if you love a fabulous appetizer, don't miss out on the popular Kung Pao cauliflower at Beet & Basil. With too many to mention, check out the Visit Sandpoint Dining Guide for an extensive list of local dining options.

Our new 2021 Sandpoint Visitor Guide is here!

We're looking forward to all the events and activities happening in 2021 - and what better way to get planning than with our new Sandpoint Visitor Guide. It's packed with essential information for planning a trip to our lake and mountain town - camping spots, top things to do in Sandpoint, an all-new mountain biking trail map, restaurants and retail stores, plus so much more. We look forward to seeing y'all real soon ... and in the meantime, click to browse the pages of the flip-page edition.

Idaho advances to Stage 3 reopening

Gov. Brad Little moved the State of Idaho forward to Stage 3 of Reopening this week, based on "evidence of a decrease in the incident rate" of Covid-19. The guidelines basically affect gatherings, allowing the number of people to increase from 10 in Stage 2 to 50 people in Stage 3. Little urges residents and visitors to stay vigilant in working to slow the spread of the virus. "Thanks to our collective good efforts, those case counts are much lower and trending downward." - Mask mandate still in effect. A reminder that a mask mandate remains in effect for the Panhandle Health District, which includes Sandpoint and Bonner County. Folks are required to wear face coverings when near others in public, and PHD asks everyone to be vigilant in distancing and sanitation.
