Dear All,

I hope this email finds all of you well?

This is a quick monthly update on progress we have made in the development of the Ghana Fertilizer dashboard since the last update of December 2020.

Prototype Development

As stated in the December 2020 update, the VIFAA technical team have been working on the development of the Ghana dashboard development. As at the end of January 2021, the following charts have already been completed. These include:
  1. Product Availability

  • Monthly Fertilizer Imports by Products (stacked bar chart)
A vertical stacked bar chart showing the fertilizer imports by month in MT. Each bar will show the different fertilizer products imported that month in a different color.

  • Total Fertilizer Imports by Year (Line Chart)
  • Imports by Country of Origin and Year (Sankey Chart)

Imports by Country of Origin and Product (Map)

2. Product Use

  • Apparent Fertilizer Consumption (Vertical Stacked Bar Chart)
  • National Average Fertilizer Consumption - by Product Ton (Line Graph)
  • National Average Fertilizer Consumption - by Nutrient Ton (Vertical Stacked Bar Chart)

3. Plant Directory

The Development Gateway (DG) technical team is also currently working on completing the development of five more charts from the fertilizer price data. The team has set February 2021 to complete the development of these charts. These charts include;
  • Fertilizer Retail Price (Map)
  • Evolution of Retail Price Over Time (Line Chart)
  • Comparison of Commercial and Subsidized Prices at the Retail Level ( Bar Chart)
  • Monthly International Price (Line Chart)
  • Quarterly International and Ghana Retail Price Trends (Line Chart)
VIFAA Ghana Dashboard Feedback Workshop
  • Once the development of the dashboard is completed in February 2021, DG and AFO will seek to engage with you and other stakeholders in the early part of March 2021 to among others walk you through the dashboard and its functions; identify potential gaps and opportunities to improve the data in the dashboard; gather examples of how you intend to use the dashboard; and outline next steps in the timeline for collaboration.
  • Please stay tuned for more information during the month on DG and AFO’s plans for the “soft” launch and testing of the dashboard.
DG is open for questions and comments.

Kind regards,

Raymond
