Dear <<First Name>>,
Happy new year and best wishes for the new semester! I am pleased to share with you our Fischell Institute Young Investigator Fellowship program Call for Proposals. We intend to provide three $50K awards to *existing* multi-investigator teams to augment their activities. The rationale and guidelines are provided, but please let us know if you have any questions. Please note: the deadline to submit a proposal is February 24, 2021.
Also, as promised last fall, we're starting an informal topical Fischell Institute "Drop-In" opportunity so that even in the pandemic/virtual world, we can exchange ideas, get acquainted with like-minded folks, explore new fields, and/or develop commercialization strategies. If you would like to host a "Drop-In," please let me know. We've already scheduled a few. They are listed on the Fischell Institute website and we will send you reminders the week before each session:
- Greg Payne, IBBR, "Oxidative Stress"
Friday, February 19, 11 a.m.
- Reza Ghodssi, Electrical Engineering, "Ingestible devices and systems for the GI tract — engineering tools and methodologies that the medical doctors do not have today."
Friday, February, 26, 11 a.m.
- Don DeVoe, Mechanical Engineering, "Microfluidic Systems for Bioanalytics"
Friday, March 5, 11 a.m.
- Lex Schultheis, Fischell Institute, "Point-of-care Manufacturing"
Friday, March 19, 11 a.m.
- Bill Bentley, Bioengineering, "Bacterial Signaling and Synthetic Biology"
Friday, March 26, 11 a.m.
- Ryan Sochol, Mechanical Engineering, "3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing"

With Best Regards,
Bill
