In this edition of BLING’s newsletter, we are happy to announce that on 3 March we are organizing the BLING Mid Term Conference. You can now sign up for this event. This newsletter also covers the Healthy on the Blockchain pilot, which is launched by partners Roeselare and Howest, the Attendance pilot on blockchain will be explained, the Mobiliti pilot has been presented at the Flemish Chamber of Commerce, and we are looking back at the online webinar on the Uncertain Promise of Blockchain.

Mid Term Conference

On March 3 the BLING consortium organizes their midterm conference. During this free 1-day online programme we present great keynote speakers like Roman Beck, Daniel Du Seuil and Juho Lindman. BLING partners from Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Scotland and Sweden present their latest use cases around blockchain. This conference is moderated by researcher and blockchain expert Hannah Rudman

Healthy on the Blockchain pilot launched in Belgium
 
The city of Roeselare and University of Applied Sciences Howest launched their first pilot in the city of Roeselare for the employees of the municipality: The Fit4Work Challenge. This is an experiment to stimulate preventive health programs to organizations such as working out and individual support by a trainer. The pilot is fully Corona proof and privacy proof through the use of blockchain.

"Talks about the uncertain promise of blockchain"


On the 21st of January 2021, the BLING project organized a webinar on the OECD paper 'The Uncertain Promise of Blockchain for Government'. Together with experts from the field, author Juho Lindman discussed this paper. Almost 50 participants joined the webinar.

Presentation of Mobiliti pilot at Flemish Chamber of Commerce
On Friday 22 January, Howest presented the Mobiliti pilot during the information session: "Building business models with blockchain 2.0" organized by the Flemish Chamber of Commerce (VOKA). With Mobiliti, Howest wants to provide companies with tools to facilitate sustainable mobility via a blockchain-based ridesharing platform. 82 people joined the presentation. We look back on a fruitful webinar.
