Pastor's Corner

Dear Friends,

We don't know who wrote the book of Hebrews. We do know that whoever wrote it was a church leader and a skilled Bible scholar. Near the end Hebrews in chapter 13, the author encourages the church to honor their leaders who have the charge of shepherding their souls. He then goes on in Hebrews 13:18 to make this request, “Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.”

And that is what I want to ask you to do right now. Will you pray for the church leadership? Specifically, will you pray for the elders, deacons and staff of Cornerstone?

Leading a church during a pandemic has been very difficult. Many of us are having to make decisions on matters that we could never have dreamed of making. It has been very difficult - yet we are steadfast in our call to shepherd the flock and carry forward the mission and ministry that God has called us to here at Cornerstone.

With that in mind, this coming week the church officers will be gathering for our monthly meeting. We will be evaluating many ministry items and discussing a path forward for restarting different ministry programs that have been gone for nearly a year now. Please pray that God would give us wisdom and that we would exercise wisdom with a clear conscience and that we honor God in all things.

The Session will continue to send out regular updates on Cornerstone's ministry in the days and weeks ahead. In the meantime, please pray.

I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday and meditating on The High Priestly Prayer of Jesus from John 17

“And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”  - John 17:3 ESV

By His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
