Every year, our friends at Everyday Boston organize the Love Your Wicked Awesome Neighbor Challenge, which aims to bring residents together through messages that spread love, hope, and support (sorta like what a tree does!) They invite people of all ages to write encouraging notes to strangers and share them on Valentine's Day.
Well, Speak for the Trees loved this wicked awesome idea so much, that we're working with our friends over at Everyday Boston and inviting folks to gently fasten cards around your favorite wicked awesome neighborhood trees, bringing joy to all who pass by.
You have two, you guessed it, wicked awesome ways to be part of this event and spread love, hope, and happiness around.
1) Make your own card, in your own style, and gently tie it to a street tree that's special to you. No nails, no tape please!
2) Use this form to submit a short message, which we'll add to a template, print, and display on your behalf.
Whether you're hanging the cards yourself or we're doing it for you, it's important that we all remember to take down the cards after a week.
More information about the project and instructions for making your own card can be found on Everyday Boston's website. If you want to make a card and display it, distribute it, or exchange it in some other way, fill out Everyday Boston's general sign-up form.
And be sure to follow @everydayboston on Facebook and Instagram, and @everyday_boston on Twitter to stay up-to-date with the project and to see the cards that other people are making.
