Sailing Champions League at MYC this weekend!

Members and friends are invited to come and see the action this weekend, with short, tight and exciting racing running just off the pier!

This weekend (Feb 6th & 7th) MYC are delighted to be hosting the Sailing Champions League: Asia Pacific southern qualifying event, where 12 teams from Victoria & Tasmania's best clubs will be battling it out in the supplied fleet of identical RS21 yachts.

The Southern Qualifying event is open to WA, SA, TAS & VIC club teams, with teams consisting of 2 male and 2 female sailors. From this event the top 8 U22 and top 8 Open teams will qualify directly for the respective u22/Open Asia Pacific Finals in Sydney in April, on the pathway to be crowned the best club in the world at the SAILING Champions League: World Final in Porto Cervo, Italy in Sept 2021.

Mornington Yacht Club is being represented by 3 teams, and we look forward to cheering them on and hopefully seeing them in the finals! The teams are:

- Open: Chris Jackson, Dave Eickmeyer, Sophie Jackson & Mel Hitchen Haw
- U22: James Jackson, Lily Richardson, Matilda Richardson & Jack Eickmeyer.
- U22: Lachie Weber, Will McKenzie, Brooke Hutchinson & Chloe Harper.

Racing will begin at 10am on Saturday, with the MYC teams racing in the second flight, running from 2pm-5pm.
Racing kicks off again at 10am on Sunday morning, before the top 6 head into the finals at 3:30pm.

The BBQ will be on to purchase lunch, so come down and check out the action!
