10 February 2021

FROM THE EDITORS "VIRTUAL NEWS" DESK

It's February 2021 already! Looking back I wonder where January went and did I miss out on any news. Well there is tons of news this newsletter edition, and as always we have tried to bring you the best in our newsletter.

This edition I wanted to discuss Kubernetes a little further, and getting started, in a really easy way. Check out the featured article for more detail on this and how to get your Kubernetes journey started with Kube Academy.

If you are interested VMware also has a really great (I say this with experience of the actual course) Kubernetes course available that you should check out here. This is a 2 day course that you can take Live On-Line or even have it scheduled for your company and a team of up to 12 people.

Onwards to this editions news, featured article, KBs and more. Thank you all for your support and if you are receiving this online or from a colleague please consider subscribing here.

FEATURED
VMware a while back, provided the community with a great free resource kube.academy. So why would you use this resource and what do you get? Well first off there are 2 levels of membership, Free and Pro. At this stage both levels are free, however I would not be able to say if this may change in the future. One of the really great things about this is that it is pure Kubernetes and you are able to apply all of your knowledge that you get from this series in any compliant Kubernetes environment with the right setup.

Here is a quick look at the levels:

Here is a list of instructors and their BIOs!

Here are a list of the course and whether they are PRO or not!

In summary, this is a really fantastic resource that is easy to access for new/beginners and this with more experience. There is no reason you shouldn't take a look at this resource and go through the activities. Kubernetes is a very exciting but also daunting for many who are looking to transition to this technology and need to find information that is not very opinionated and also easy to use. I give this my thumbs up and I hope you will check it out.
