Group Watersports Classes

Heads Up! This year's group watersports classes start tomorrow, and a few spots remain for the Introductory Sailing class.

A great way to get your mind off of everything else, these weekend sessions run from February through November. This assortment (of Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, SUP and SUP Yoga classes) is suitable for teens (age 14+) as well as adults.

Each class adheres (based on the equipment) to specific cohort caps (like their semi-private counterparts). In addition, this class type also adheres to the same safety-based restrictions. Football at Shoreline Lake?

Not really, but if you prefer a quiet way to enjoy Super Bowl Sunday, and still partake of some football related treats, look no further. The American Bistro will, once again, be serving their tasty sugar cookie version of Sunday's flying projectile. Pair that with an espresso, out on the patio, gazing at the water, and let the quiet seep in.

Weekday Kid & Teen Activities

As so many kids and teens are still at home during the week, if you know parents who would like a much needed breather, please pass this along... The first sessions of Shoreline's 4-Week After-Home School Programs start next week – Feb 8th (Mon/Wed Mixed Watersports, ages 8-13) and Feb 9th (Tu/Th Laser Sailing, ages 11-16). 

Besides these Programs providing a variety of safe, and fun, after-school activities, kids can challenge themselves by learning fundamental skills for a slew of paddlesports, as well as sailing, and engage in teamwork and critical thinking. Replacing shuttered team sports, they also allow for a bit of friendly competition, in addition to helping burn off that pent up "zest for activity." (Plus, kids receive personalized attention in small COVID-19 compliant groups – capped at 14 for Watersports, and 6 for Laser Sailing – from dedicated staff, and no mixing allowed between the groups.)

Upcoming Weekend Camps Sessions

With demand remaining high since the Youth Weekend Camps rolled out last year, the Boathouse added two additional sessions in order to provide more availability for the first half of 2021. NB! However, since the early sessions for March are filling up, we recommend signing your child up today.

Another way to provide kids with a chance to get some real social interaction, these 4-day weekend versions of Shoreline's Summer Camps cover six Camps Programs, and are COVID-19 compliant organized outdoor sports options (for children ages 5-16):

• Beginner Windsurfing & Sailing
• Advanced Windsurfing & Sailing
• Advanced Sailing (Laser)
• Performance Laser Sailing

Please be aware that, although online registration is currently open, Shoreline must maintain “stable” groups (and sub-groups) of campers here as well. Spring Recess Camps

If you need a way to keep the kids busy all day during Spring Break, you might want to consider Shoreline's Kayak & Sail Spring Camp. For 2021, Shoreline is offering two sessions of this fun, interactive and challenging day camp (April 5th-9th & April 12th-16th), for kids and teens, ages 10-15.

These camps also adhere to the same safety-based restrictions as the other Shoreline Lake Kids' Programs, and enrollment is limited to 14 participants per session.

Lakeside Relaxation

Along with hanging out on the waterfront lawn area, the American Bistro's outdoor patio also still remains a good choice as an uncrowded escape for lunch, a glass of wine, an espresso or ice cream outdoors, and for anyone in need of a break from virtual schooling and working from home.

Besides taking in a really nice view from the patio, Bistro staff are serving tableside – with seating spaced for social distancing compliance – and food prepped for takeaway can also be enjoyed there as well.

Valentine's Dessert Specials

Of course chocolate desserts will be on the menu. From Wednesday-Sunday (February 10-14), the Bistro will be preparing tasty treats perfect for sharing. Just a little bit of fun with “LUV” in an outdoors and in a delicious ingredient kind of way.

Presidents' Day Weekend

Over the last few weeks, the Boathouse has been open M-F 11-5 and S-S 10-5:30 for rentals. Although, the Bistro has been closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (current hours are W-F 10-2 and S-S 10-5), to make sure everyone can enjoy being outdoors on the three-day weekend, both the Boathouse and Bistro will be open on Presidents' Day (Monday, February 15th), from 10am-5pm.
