END OF WEEK ONE UPDATE

Dear Parents / Caregivers,

Greetings to you all at the start of 2021 from the staff and Board of Trustees of the College.  We have had a really smooth and positive start to the school year, especially considering our roll of over 2000 boys, the largest in the history of the college.

Your boys will have received a considerable amount of information relating to expectations of behaviour, school rules, organisational details, timetable etc.  For a number of them this will have been daunting and overwhelming, so I draw your attention to the information below so you are able to support them where necessary to access the many opportunities available at the college.

SPORT at TBC
Next week all Summer sports teams will be selected, then competition begins next week or the following week.  Boys will find the dates and times for muster meetings on the Daily information Sheet (DIS).  They can also look at what opportunities there are here https://sport.tbc.school.nz/ and what each sport involves here https://sport.tbc.school.nz/titans-sport/how-get-involved.  If you cannot find what you are looking for or have missed a meeting then please email the Teacher in Charge https://sport.tbc.school.nz/about/teacher-charge.

Winter Sports musters will happen in approx. Week 5 of this term.  We encourage all boys to play a sport either socially or competitively so they can make the most of what TBC has to offer.

THE ARTS AT TBC

Tauranga Boys’ College is committed to providing a wide range of artistic activities, groups and opportunities for students of all abilities, interests and cultures. Fun, participation, education and achievement are acknowledged and promoted as an important part of a young man’s education for life and will hopefully encourage a lifelong involvement in the arts.

Information regarding upcoming Arts meetings and events can be found here TBC Arts Information

COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE COLLEGE

A comprehensive newsletter will be sent fortnightly, beginning Friday 12th February, detailing student achievement across all areas with important upcoming dates to aid your planning.  I will also send out updates at regular intervals of key events as required.

Thank you for supporting your son in ensuring the start of the year goes smoothly for him.  We look forward to working with you to ensure he achieves his potential across all areas of endeavour in 2021.

Kind regards,

Robert Mangan
Principal
