OUR INNOVATORS AND FUTURE LEADERS
With over 400 postgraduates from all over the world, Churchill’s postgraduate students form a vital part of the College’s diverse academic community, their research addressing global social and scientific challenges. However, the estimated annual cost for a Home student studying for an MPhil ranges from £23,000 to £26,000, rising to as high as £43,000 for an overseas student for some science subjects. Four years ago the UK Government introduced a Postgraduate Masters Loan of up to £10,000 but this sum does not even cover tuition fees. Postgraduate study is becoming unaffordable for all but the most privileged. Read the inspiring stories of some of our students and find out how you can help.

HELP US PLANT 100 TREES!
The College has ambitious plans to plant 100 trees this year, at a cost of £12,000, taking the total to 1,000 planted on the 42-acre site as part of our 60th anniversary celebrations. Donors to our tree fund will have their names noted in a tree inventory so they will be able to identify which tree/s they contributed to. We have joined forces with alumna Xiaotian Fu (G06), who will kindly match 1:1 all donations to the gardens fund before 28 February up to £10,000.
We are pleased to congratulate Xiaotian on recently being recognised as one of 'Ten Outstanding New Hong Kong Young Persons 2020', as well as one of the 'Top 50 Overseas Educated Returned Elites of China'. She also presented the award for Best Documentary at the online International Emmy Awards in November.
In further garden news, you can hear our Head of Grounds and Gardens, John Moore, being interviewed on Radio Cambridgeshire last Sunday (31 minutes in), about our collection of plants named after Sir Winston being designated a National Plant Collection.
