Vestry meeting

See you onscreen!
Tomorrow (Sunday, February 7) there are two things happening. The first is the weekly Service of the Word by Zoom at 10 am. That's been so popular that a few people from the rest of the parish have joined in! It's great to see everyone, to worship together, and to do a bit of a catch-up at the end.
Then, those who haven't listened to the homily ahead of the service just head over to the website, here, to catch up on that.
Finally, a few hardy souls don their masks (and their winter gear!) and take in a little fresh air with a walk through the village.
It's a pleasant Sunday routine.
Tomorrow we're adding the annual Vestry meeting. It starts at 2 pm.
All you need for the prayer service is a green prayer book and a blue hymn book. We've put the prayer and hymn books near the door (at the usual spot for that metal cart) in the parish hall. Pick up one of each, or, if you can't get there, let us know and someone will drop them off to you.
All you need for the Vestry meeting is the Vestry Report and Ministry and Mission Plan that you either found in your mailbox or that was sent to you by email. If you are missing either the report or the plan, write to stmatthewsflorence@gmail.com and we'll get those to you.

So on Sunday at 10 am, click this link:

Meeting ID (if you are prompted to enter it): 425 593 9269
Password: bleSSings5

On Sunday at 2 pm, click the same link! Same meeting ID, same password. If you have any trouble at all, you can call in this way:
Dial 1-647-374-4685 and, when prompted, enter Meeting ID 4255939269#
That's a Toronto number, so you will want to check that you have an unlimited province-wide long distance plan before dialing.

February news

Little Free Pantry
Thanks to that heater and to generous villagers, the little free pantry is still going strong even with the temperatures falling! What an amazing community!

Hearts
We're still knitting and crocheting hearts for the hospitals, as the need is still there. Let us know if you can help.

Quilts
Just this week the Stitchers delivered a half dozen beautiful quilts to the Westover Treatment Centre. The banner photo, above, is a closeup of one of those. Note the stitching! Wow!
Below is the thank-you email they sent to Myrna. She is spearheading this project for the Stitchers' team.
On the cover of the Huron Church News...

St. Matthew's hit the front page this month, above the fold! 😉
That's our Evelyn on page one, with the story on page 3, here
