Join an advisory committee or commission. Victoria residents are invited to make an impact on their community and the future of Victoria by serving on a City advisory commission or committee. These City Council-appointed positions are responsible for researching, reviewing and making recommendations on a variety of different issues. Apply by Feb. 23, 2021.

Call, email, or make an appointment to reach out to City staff. The City of Victoria extended its current COVID-19 response plan to the end of February 2021. The City continues to provide services via phone, online, or by appointment only.

Plan to visit Wassermann Lake Preserve this summer. The City of Victoria plans for a spring ribbon cutting and park opening for the Wassermann Lake Preserve in the summer of 2021. Early winter weather delayed the soft opening of the preserve this fall.

Check your ash trees for emerald ash borer. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture confirmed that there is an emerald ash borer outbreak in Chanhassen. Ash trees are at risk of infestation as emerald ash borer larvae tunnel and cut off key nutrients needed to run through the tree. A discount for treatment is available through a program with the City.

Skate outside on the outdoor ice rink at Lions Park. The outdoor ice rink and warming house are open at Lions Park. Visitors must follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines when using the rink or the warming house.

Give back to the community. Volunteers can sign up to help at Carver County’s food distribution events organized for Feb. 3, Feb. 11, and March 11. Everyone is eligible to receive food during the events while supplies last.
