SLC Extras

Parent Volunteer

SLC is seeking someone who has marketing experience, who may be interested in a small side gig, to help SLC come up with a marketing strategy.  Compensation will be considered in the form of tuition reimbursement.  Please submit a note of interest if this is your area of expertise to Chrissy Cornell.

Valentine's Day

SLC is striving to approach Holidays through an anti-bias lens.  Ultimately this means our focus is on learning about how our SLC families celebrate different holidays, as opposed to celebrating them here at school.  In lieu of exchanging Valentine's inside our classrooms, we will focus on celebrating family diversity, friendship and acts of kindness. This NAEYC article does a nice job outlining how celebrating holidays in a school setting can pose some challenges.

Play is More Important Now

According to the Hechinger Report, play is precisely what children need to normalize this period. It is the elixir that allows children to cope and to learn.  We couldn't agree more!
