Starting on February 11th, 2021 and running once per week over 3 consecutive weeks, each 60 to 90 minute online session will be led by one of our senior WSET-trained sommeliers.
The Program includes the following:
• Your own Wine Aroma Wheel from the University of California, Davis, to help you better identify aromas and flavours, and assisting in your journey of learning to describe wines.
• 6 wines per session (18 in total) in 2 oz. sample bottle formats, delivered to your home the day before each tasting.
• For each wine, you will learn about its origin (the region of the world where the wine comes from), its specific growing area, and some highlights about the producer.
Goals of the Program:
1. Expand your knowledge of varietals (type of grape) by tasting a range of New World and Old World wines, and discover wines that you may not have previously considered.
2. Learn wine tasting terminology, develop your own ability to describe wines, and recognize why you like (or dislike) a wine.
3. Have fun! These are not lectures. They are designed to be flexible and interactive sessions to remove the mystique from the cryptic language used by professional wine writers.
During each virtual wine tasting session, we encourage you to ask questions, use the private chat function, or follow up personally with your instructor. Whichever way you are most comfortable communicating, our goal is to elevate your wine tasting experience.
