EXPERIENCE LENT WITH BUMC KIDS
We’re already looking ahead to Lent and we are so excited to offer something new this year! Register today for our first "Experience Lent" Box to guide you through the season. Each box will be filled with intentional activities and reflections for your family to walk through Lent--starting on Ash Wednesday, continuing through each week of Lent, and ending with Holy Week and Easter. Our prayer is that these boxes will help your family explore and understand this season of preparation and sacrifice in your homes. (Limit one box per family)

ARTWORK OF THE WEEK
Calling all artists!
Art speaks in ways that we often cannot, and we would love to showcase all of the creativity that is flowing out of our families! Has your child created something after watching one of our BUMC Kids videos or online worship? Or have they created something in response to conversations y'all have had at home about our Creator of all Creators? We want to see it! Anything from a scribble to a 3D sculpture-please send a picture our way. Each week, Ms. Gwen and Ms. Megan will feature a picture of artwork or photo in their Sunday videos!
Email Kathleen Argueta (kargueta@bumc.net) with any questions or submissions!
As always, please tag us on Instagram & Facebook to connect!

A SACRED HOME
Wanting to grow faith in your home, but not knowing where to start? A Sacred Home was created out of a desire to inspire and encourage families as they strive to weave faith into daily lives.
BUMC SERMON PODCASTS
Did you know you can listen to our sermons anywhere you listen to podcasts? Search "Brentwood United Methodist Church" and listen to your favorite sermons from over the years. Great for parents on the go!
DISCIPLESHIP TOOL
We know it’s hard to know where you are going unless you know where to start. We know it’s hard to grow without knowing where some good next steps might be. No matter where you are in your journey of faith, this intentional discipleship tool can help you discern where are you starting and where are you headed.
CREATING A SACRED SPACE AT HOME
Creating a small space in your own home where you can worship and connect with God can be spiritually restorative. All you need is your imagination, some items that have meaning to you, and the presence of God. Take a look at this BLOG POST from our friends at Cokesbury about how to create a place in your home for worship, prayer, and reflection.

DEALING WITH GRIEF THROUGH ART
Art can be a way for you and your children to process and express emotion in ways that words cannot. THIS ARTICLE discusses processing grief through collage.
NOT TOO YOUNG TO TALK ABOUT RACE & SOCIAL INJUSTICE
It’s hard to know where to start the conversation about race with young children. After all, these conversations aren’t easy for most adults. With children there is the additional necessity of making sure the conversation is both age-appropriate and reassuring (at a time when the news is anything but). This list of books and resources can help!
RESILIENCY & HOPE
Take a look at these monthly conversations between our BUMC Counseling Center therapists. These live events occur every second Thursday at 7:30 PM. February's meeting on the 11th will focus on Frustration & Anger.
HELPFUL ACCOUNTS
- A great Instagram post by @benstuart that talks about how we are to handle disagreements as Christ followers (with helpful scriptures).
- The Instagram account @drbeckyathome is, in OUR opinion, one of the best resources out there for talking to children through difficult times and big feelings.
- Don't have the words to pray? Try these. @liturgiesforparents
