Since its foundation in 1990, ISB has been developing the leaders of tomorrow and engaging Muslims and wider society, built on a foundation of Islamic values.  We have organised a wide range of activities over the years to nurture the young and build the foundations of an outward looking organisation.  As with any organisation with longevity it is essential that ISB stays relevant and is engaged in work that is important and may be unique.  The coming generation are growing up in a hugely different social, economic, and cultural environment. The rapid growth of social media has channeled their attention into other activities including how they consume information. We need your help to move our organisation forward.

We are going to conduct an extensive survey of our current and past members and anyone who has participated in our activities or events over previous years.

The purpose of this survey is twofold. We would like to understand how we can serve you better. Secondly, the hallmark of ISB has so often been the contribution our members make through their volunteering. We would like to understand your skills and experience as there is so much talent and wisdom that our projects (new and existing) could benefit from.

We shall be sending out a separate email with a link to the online questionnaire which should take about 10 minutes to complete. In addition, we plan to run a series of online mixed aged focus group sessions during February and March 2021 to help develop some of the ideas.
Finding positive and appropriate content online for our youngsters is challenging. With our busier lives, many parents allow their children to entertain themselves through channels such as YouTube, however asking our youngsters to watch Islamic content seems like a chore! The Young Muslims aim to nurture our youngsters to produce positive Islamic content for the benefit of mankind, inshaAllah!
A competition was launched in which youngsters were invited to produce a short film about a Hadith or an Islamic story. We had a total of 16 entries, which were all showcased via Zoom on Saturday the 9th of January 2021.
Four independent judges graded the entries with audience participation, and two of the entries were so close that the winner had to be chosen through a final audience vote! Alhamdulillah, the winning entry won a whopping £500.00, with just two votes between the finalists. Please watch the amazing winning video using this link.

ISB Branches Update
Manchester Branch

Raising greater awareness of COVID-19 vaccines across BAME communities in Manchester.

ISB Manchester is collaborating with Trafford Metropolitan Council in Greater Manchester and a number of local health and faith-based charities to raise awareness of the new COVID-19 vaccines. There is much misinformation circulating and reluctance amongst sections of the BAME community to be vaccinated. We shall be using a range of resources including short videos to send messages through a wide range of social media channels. We shall also be recruiting volunteers to support the vaccination programme in Manchester.
