Summer patios

If your business is planning a pop up summer patio applications are open. The application process will be similar to last year with application fee waived. We are negotiating for Roads fees to be waived again. Stay tuned for an update on that. This year you can choose to use your own barricades instead of the orange ROADS barricades. We are also negotiating for a multi-year patio approvals process.

Restaurant opportunity

Julie VanRosendaal has started an initiative called “Cooking with a Chef” zoom classes using her social media reach to help local restaurants. For more information go to www.cookwithachef.ca or email jukievr@shaw.ca.  Classes accommodate 50 participants at $50 ticket so that’s $2,500 for the restaurant and so far classes have sold out. Classes happen in your restaurant and Julie comes to you.

New businesses that opened after March 1, 2020 will now be eligible for the Alberta Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant starting February 4, 2021.
