<<First Name>>

Last Sunday's snow came and went quickly in Manresa; it was long enough to be delightful, with none of the inconvenience or constraint it might presage elsewhere. It invited attention and rewarded any it was given before disappearing secretly to bring life to the earth.

The spirit of Jesus moves us when we notice and appreciate, when we look again and are blessed. We will be glad if, in these days, you can join us in noticing where there is life.

Agus an t-Earrach ag briseadh orainn, spreag le do bheatha sinn, a Thiarna.

 Thanks for walking with us

Care for all

We are very grateful to all who participated in our Advent and New Year programmes, to those who made donations and to all who took the time to send a message of appreciation.
We hope, in time, to honour the various suggestions and responses that you have made (such as by those who participated in the Online Laybyrinth Walks).  we will keep you informed through this newsletter or you can also subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Daily Mass
from the Arrupe Chapel

We continue to weIcome a diverse congregation to our daily mass at 12:15 pm. We are happy to extend an invitation to you to join our Eucharist when you can. You can consult the calendar on the website to see when mass is available online from the Arrupe Chapel and to get the link to access it.

  Lent with Manresa
We look forward to accompanying you during Lent. We hope to be able to  provide some resources similar to those offered during Advent, when reflective material was added throughout the season. Please click here to subscribe to Manresa's YouTube channel and be among the first to know when something new becomes available there.

       An Oasis Day at home
Let us join you at home for a day's retreat

Can you consider taking one day for an Oasis Day? Have a day's retreat wherever you are, joining others online for some reflective input, guided prayer, celebration of the Eucharist made available from Manresa's Arrupe Chapel and an opportunity for a one-to-one conversation with a qualified spiritual director.

Oasis Day at home

Each Pilgrim Ways evening focuses on an aspect of pilgrimage – perhaps referring to Ignatius of Loyola who refers to himself in his autobiography as “the Pilgrim” - and invite participants to reflect on their own sense of being a pilgrim. The online gatherings will involve some input, quiet time and conversation and will conclude with a cup of tea - a chance to compare notes or meet up with other walkers.

Those who work in hospitals and in healthcare are evidently affected by the pandemic. For many people, its effects are more hidden and subtle – less evident but not without cost. It is also true that the conditions of recent months have brought people to engage with their faith differently and to reflect more on the  spiritual dimensions of their lives (NCR).
We invite all who have completed our spiritual direction training programmes to join us online for an evening of reflection and prayer as we consider our ministry in this time of pandemic.

Your 2021 Retreat
Our calendar shows a number of retreats in the coming months; if you would prefer not to commit to eight full days, we invite you to decide on the length of retreat that you think will be of most how to you. You can avail of one-to-one direction on between four and eight of those days and your director will be available to meeto you on the days you choose.
If you would like to arrange for one-to-one accompaniment for a retreat of between four and eight days,  please reserve a place during one of the following times: We envisage that these retreats will all be online - ordinarily by Zoom videoconferencing but telephone may be facilitated by  arrangement.
Orderly planning of our retreats remains in disarray as it  continues to be impossible to  determine when residents might be welcomed on site. It is understandable that many people want to "wait it out" and consider their retreat when life adopts a more acceptable pattern. If you are not sure whether to wait or to make the best of the current situation, you may like to see what others have found about the online retreats - see this page. We look forward to being able to publish a fuller list of dates in due course.
