in January
New year, new challenges! According to the WWF's Deforestation Fronts Report around the world released this month, Madagascar is a new deforestation front. Despite this, communities and compatriots are taking action to bend the curve through reforestation. In 2021, let's raise awareness, let's give ourselves the chance to regreen Madagascar as it should. Good reading !

Deforestation is a complex and multidimensional problem - Letter to readers of Nanie Ratsifandrihamanana : The loss of forests for the country is estimated at just under one million hectares between 2004 and 2017.
Deforestation Fronts : Drivers and Responses in a changing world : 24 « deforestation fronts » have been identified: these are regions with a significant concentration of deforestation hotspots. Download HERE the report.

On our social media
This January, Malagasy people were alerted by the urgency to stop deforestation. Our campaign reached 166,000 people on social media and our publications engaged 8,204 people.

A "One Planet Summit" for biodiversity

World's heads of state signed the Leaders Pledge for Nature in September, to halt the loss of biodiversity by 2030 in support of sustainable development.
