Շաբաթ, 23 Յունուար 2021-ի երեկոյեան, Արեւմտեան Թեմի Առաջնորդ՝ Գերշ. Տ. Թորգոմ Ս. Եպս. Տօնոյեան ժամանեց Լաս Վեկաս, ընկերակցութեամբ Կրօնական ժողովի ատենապետ Գերպ. Տ. Միւռոն Ծ. Վրդ. Ազնիկեանի եւ անդամներ՝ Հոգշ. Տ. Սմբատ Վրդ. Սապունճեանի, Արժ. Տ. Գարեգին Քհնյ. Պետուրեանի, Արժ. Տ. Մովսէս Քհնյ. Շաննագեանի, Ազգային վարչութեան անդամներ Բարշ. Պերճ Սրկ. Աբգարեանի, Տիկ. Ծովիկ Զէյթլեանի եւ Կեդրոնական վարչութեան անդամ Տիար Կայծակ Զէյթլեանի: Սրբազան Հայրը դիմաւորեցին՝ եկեղեցւոյս Հոգեւոր Հովիւ Արժ. Տ. Վահան Կոստանեան եւ Հոգաբարձութեան անձնակազմն ու ծխական համայնքէս երկու փոքրեր, որոնք կատարեցին աղ ու հացի աւանդական արարողութիւնը, որպէս բարի գալուստ Առաջնորդ Սրբազան Հօր, անոր առաջին այցելութեան առիթով։
Նոյն օրը, երեկոյեան ժամը 5ին, Սրբազան Հայրը նախագահեց Լաս Վեկասի Ս. Կարապետ Հայց. Առաք. եկեղեցւոյ Կիրակնամուտի Ժամերգութեան եւ կատարեց քահանայական կոչման արարողութիւնը Բարշ. Սեւակ Սրկ. Պատոյեանին։ Սեւակ սարկաւագ, խարտաւիլակ հայր սուրբեր՝ Տ. Միւռոն Ծ. Վրդ. Ազնիկեանի եւ Տ. Սմբատ Վրդ. Սապունճեանի առաջնորդութեամբ եկեղեցւոյ մուտքէն ծնրադիր ուղղուեցաւ դաս եւ նզովեց բոլոր հերետիկոսներն ու եկեղեցւոյ ճշմարիտ դաւանանքին խոտոր հանդիսացող վարդապետութիւնները, ապա հաստատեց Հայ Եկեղեցւոյ ուղղափառ դաւանանքին ու սրբազան հայրապետներու հաստատած կանոններուն նկատմամբ իր հաւատարմութիւնը:
Յետ արարողութեան, Սրբազան Հայրը հանդիպում-ընթրիք մը ունեցաւ շրջանի հոգեւոր հովիւին, Ազգային երեսփոխաններուն, եկեղեցւոյ Հոգաբարձական կազմին եւ համայնքի բարերարներուն հետ: Հանդիպման ընթացքին քննարկուեցան Լաս Վեկասի ծխական կեանքը յուզող հարցեր: Սրբազան Հայրը իր զրուցակիցներուն հետ բաժնեց մտածումներ՝ ի խնդիր շրջանի հայութեան հոգեւոր եւ ազգային կեանքի առաւել պայծառացման եւ բարձր գնահատեց անոնց ազգակերտ ու եկեղեցաշէն գործունէութիւնը Լաս Վեկասի հայութեան կեանքին մէջ:
Կիրակի, 24 Յունուար 2021ի առաւօտեան ժամը 10ին, եկեղեցւոյ անուանակոչութեան տօնին առիթով, Սրբազան Հայրը կատարեց Առաջնորդական Անդրանիկ Ս. եւ Անմահ Պատարագ: «Զի ողորմած» աղօթքէն ետք Ընծայեալը խարտաւիլակ հայր սուրբերուն առաջնորդութեամբ ծնրադիր բարձրացաւ Ս. Խորան, ուր աստուածաշնչական ընթերցումներու եւ հոգեթով աղօթքներու ճամբով ան հրաւիրուեցաւ Քրիստոսի «քաղցր լուծը» կրելու խորհուրդի պատասխանատուութեան: Ձեռնադրիչ Սրբազան Հայրը Ս. Հոգին խորհրդանշող Սրբալոյս Միւռոնը հեղեց եւ ապա օծեց Ընծայեալին ճակատը, ձեռքերը եւ շքեղ հանդիսաւորութեամբ մը Բարշ. Սեւակ Սրկ. Պատոյեանը վերակոչեց Տ. Արցախ Քահանայ, ի հետեւումն Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիոյ Կաթողիկոս Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Արամ Ա. Վեհափառ Հայրապետի կողմէ 2021 տարեշրջանը «Արցախի Տարի» հռչակման եւ ի պատիւ Հայ Արցախին:
Արարողութեան աւարտին, Գերշ. Առաջնորդ Տ. Թորգոմ Ս. Եպս. Տօնոյեան, նորօծ Տէր Արցախ Քահանայ Պատոյեան, կնքամայրը՝ Տիկին Արտա Եմենիճեան եւ կնքահայրը՝ Տիար Յակոբ Քուճաքեան շնորհաւորութիւններ ընդունեցին ներկաներէն: Այս առթիւ, նաեւ, Եկեղեցւոյս Հովիւն ու Հոգաբարձութիւնը իրենց երախտագիտութեան որպէս արտայայտութիւն, բարձրորակ ու արժէգաւոր գրիչ մը նուիրեցին Առաջնորդ Սրբազան Հօր։
Յայտնենք, որ Սրբազան Հօր Լաս Վեկաս այցելութեան եւ առաջնորդական անդրանիկ Պատարագի առիթով, տեղւոյն ազգայիններէն Լաս Վեկասի մէջ Հ.Հ. պատուոյ հիւպատոս Ատրուշան Արմէնեան եւ ազնուափայլ Տիկինը՝ Նորան, ինչպէս նաեւ Նորային մայրը՝ Տիկ. Արփի Գութնույեան, իրենց սրտագին բարեմաղթութիւնները յայտնեցին Թորգոմ Եպս. Տօնոյեանին եւ կատարեցին 10 հազար ($10,000) տոլարի նուիրատուութիւն մը (5 հազար տոլար՝ Ազգային Առաջնորդարանին, 5 հազար տոլար՝ Ս. Կարապետ եկեղեցւոյ ծրագիրներուն):
St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church of Las Vegas witnessed an unprecedented event over the weekend of January 23 and 24, 2021
On Saturday, January 23, 2021, His Grace Bishop Torkom Donoyan, made his first official visit as Prelate to our parish, accompanied by the Chairman of the Religious Council, Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, Vice Chair Very Rev. Fr. Smpad Saboundjian (Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church of San Francisco), Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian, and Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian, representatives of the Western Prelacy Executive Council, Deacon Berj Apkarian, and Mrs. Dzovig Zetlian, and Central Executive Council member, Mr. Gaidzag Zetlian. Our Pastor, Archpriest Fr. Vahan Gosdanian and the Board of Trustees welcomed the Prelate, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan with a ceremony of bread and salt, presented by two students from the Armenian Dance Academy of Las Vegas.
His Grace entered the church in a procession, to begin the sacred ordination of Deacon Sevag Badoyan into the priesthood. The calling service of Deacon Badoyan took place behind closed doors, livestreamed on the Prelacy and church social media pages over two days. This service was the beginning of the greater ordination service of the following day, during Sunday Divine Liturgy. Following the ceremony, a brief meeting was held around a dinner table at the Koujakian hall, attended by the church leadership, delegates, and the Board of Trustees. Various topics and future events were discussed during this meeting with the Prelate.
On Sunday, January 24, 2021, on the occasion of the name-day of St. Garabed Church, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan entered the church in procession led by Homenetmen Las Vegas "Artsakh" Chapter scouts to celebrate his first Divine Liturgy as Prelate of the Western Prelacy. Following the "Zi Voghormadz" prayer, Deacon Sevag Badoyan ascended onto the Holy Altar with Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian and Very Rev. Fr. Smpad Saboundjian, where he was invited to take charge of bearing the "Sweet yoke" of Christ.
His Grace anointed the forehead and hands of the newly ordained priest, renaming him as Rev. Fr. Artsakh Badoyan, in honor of both His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia's declaration (The Year of Artsakh), and for the ansentral land, Artsakh.
At the conclusion of the ceremonies, the Prelate along with the newly ordained priest, Rev. Fr. Artsakh Badoyan, his godmother Mrs. Arda Yemenidjian, and his godfather Mr. Hagop Koujakian, received congratulations from the faithful in attendance. The Pastor and the Board of Trustees presented a gift to His Grace Bishop Donoyan as an expression of appreciation for his fatherly love and care towards our parish.
On this joyous occasion of the Prelate's first visit to St. Garabed Church parish of Las Vegas and the Ordination, Honorary Consul Adroushan Armenian and his wife Mrs. Nora Armenian, as well as Nora's mother, Mrs. Arpine Koutnouyan expressed their heartfelt wishes to the Prelate and made a $10,000 donation ($5,000 to the Western Prelacy and $5,000 towards the programs of St. Garabed Church of Las Vegas).
