Dear <<First Name>>,

I wanted to reach out and thank you for being a part of our community.

One thing that the COVID-19 pandemic has made clear to me, is how important it is for us all to stay connected in these isolating times. So I’d like to share what’s going on at Moorelands and keep you updated about our work and your impact!

2020 was an extraordinary year. Despite all the challenges, our community was unwavering in its support of the Moorelands Kids’ family.  I’m so grateful to all of you who made generous gifts last year, enabling us to swing into action and keep our programs running. As we close our year, we will not be in deficit. Thank you.

One of our strategies last year was to launch a Holiday Gift Guide and I would very much welcome your thoughts and advice on this. The Gift Guide was intended to be a way for you to do some Holiday shopping while staying safe at home AND make a truly meaningful difference to a child at the same time.  Would you share your thoughts in this brief survey? Everyone who completes the survey by February 8th will be entered into a draw to win a fabulous Darlene Kulig puzzle (Check out the puzzles and masks available here).  You don’t need to have made a gift to take part in the survey.

Return to Kawagama Lake! Starting February 1st we’ll be accepting Camp Applications for new campers. Since the beginning of January, we’ve been filling our bunks with returning campers. Our belief and hope is that we will be at camp in person this summer – but of course, we have plans in place for all eventualities – just as we are currently bringing our after-school programs virtually to our kids. Here’s the link to apply for camp: moorelands.ca/apply

For now, helping kids stay home and stay active is a focus and we’ve joined the  #StayHomeON – Ontario Government initiative. We’ve launched a fun contest for our kids across our programs. They’ll chart their participation in our active play activities and send in a photo of themselves doing so. I look forward to sharing these photos with you on social media  – find us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn!

We know that children are experiencing negative impacts on both their physical and mental health from social distancing. Your partnership with Moorelands Kids helps keep kids safe, connected and growing.

Stay safe. And please, share your thoughts,

Lynda
