DAMA UK COMMITTEE ANNUAL REVIEW & PLAN
On Wednesday 10 February the DAMA UK committee is holding its annual review of 2020 and formulating its plan for 2021. If you would like us to consider any new potential activities or benefits in 2021 please email Sue Russell at info@damauk.org before then and we will ensure your ideas are discussed at the virtual meeting.
DAMA UK WEBSITE UPDATE PHASE 1 COMPLETE
You may have noticed that over the last few months we have been updating our DAMA UK website, and apologise for any disruptions caused over this period. The initial phase of this work is now complete and we will be discussing how to enhance the website further at our 10 February annual meeting. Our first members presentation 'safe space' was a success! Plenty of top tips and a good discussion on our collective presentation experiences. We are delighted to offer the third CDMP preparation course in the UK based on the all new CDMP certification exams. This CDMP exam preparation course covers the core CDMP syllabus, exam coverage, key learning points & exam preparation.
On the third day, attendees will be able to sit a CDMP exam. The exam price is included in the course fee.
The course will be delivered by CDMP Fellow Chris Bradley, who as VP for Professional Development has led the renewal of the CDMP exams. Chris has successfully delivered this CDMP preparation course around the world, with classes achieving very high pass rates.

Legacy CDMP conversion
DAMA International has started an initiative for all those who obtained a CDMP certification before March 2019 and continue wish to be recognized according to the current CDMP standard.
People who have taken a CDMP previously but lapsed in DAMA-I or CDMP renewal will be given the opportunity to take new exam(s) to renew their qualification at a significant discount vs starting over from scratch. Piloting of the renewal process is underway & invitations will be sent to prior CDMP holders in February. Anybody missed by the mailing will be able to go to the cdmp.info support pages for more information and to submit a request to be included.
DMBoK2.x maintenance release
One of DAMA’s key assets is the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK2). Today in its second version and available in 6 different languages, the DMBoK2 is widely recognised as the framework of reference by many data management practitioners in various industries and sectors; however, we do not want to be complacent and need to plan for the future.
As any other product, the DMBoK2 has a lifecycle which needs to be managed to ensure adherence to the current and emerging challenges and DAMA-I has therefore decided to undertake, a process to refresh the current version, tackling a number of known inconsistencies. This will ensure consistency within the DMBoK itself and with the Dictionary of Data Management.
We are aware that only together we will be able to successfully achieve and are here to invite you and your local chapter community to contribute to this task.
How to contribute
Starting from February 2021, DAMA-I will activate a webform on the dama.org webpage to collect your inputs about typos and inconsistencies in the DMBoK2 English Version. The form will be open until end of March 2021 and each input received will be reviewed by a Panel nominated by DAMA-I and, if accepted, included into the maintenance release of the DMBoK. This maintenance version is what we are calling DMBOK 2.x. Watch out for further announcements about this opportunity to become involved.
