A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTSA PRESIDENT
Welcome to Second Semester!
It is hard to believe we are half way through this crazy school year!  We are continuing to adjust to the challenges of remote learning, masked athletes  virtual performances, and in-person testing to name a few.  In this new year, we must recognize all of the effort to get us to this point and the effort it will take for us to finish this journey.  It is the Resilience of the Reynolds family that will carry us through.

Resilience:
noun

1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

2.the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.

Our Students have been asked to continually change how, when, and where they learn, practice, study, socialize, grow and mature.  Our Teachers have supported our Students as they have faced their own challenges - teaching differently, pushing students to excel though never meeting face-to-face, all while balancing the needs of their own families.  Reynolds Faculty and Staff have worked diligently to create a safe environment for our Students and Faculty, all while encouraging all of us to hang in there.  Parents, Families, and Friends of Reynolds High School have not let the pandemic stop them from demonstrating the love they have for our Reynolds community by continuing to generously give time, money, and resources.

Resilience!

As we look towards sunnier skies, smile and take pride in what we have accomplished. Become inspired to help and be a part of this great RJR Community.  Find your spot with the PTSA.  We will continue to celebrate our Faculty, Staff, and Students - and especially our Seniors!  Don’t you want to be a part of that?

Please reach out and let us know your thoughts and ideas and how you want to be a part of our team.

Go Demons!

Betsy Keller
Reynolds PTSA President 2020-21

REGISTRATION 2021-2022

Students will register for classes for the 2021-2022 school year during February and the first week of March. Students should register online prior to meeting with their counselors. The online portal will open Tuesday, February 2nd at 5pm and instructions for registering “online” will be available at that time on the registration tab on the Student Services section of the RJR website. During the course of registration, any additional information and resources will also be available on the registration tab. Your student should be checking his/her school email regularly for updates. Update alerts will also  be posted on Twitter @RJRCollege and through  grade-level Reminds

Teachers will assist with registering online through their Zoom classes on Thursday, Feb. 4th and Friday, Feb 5th. This is a great time to ask teachers about possible next year courses as well as recommendations for course levels (ie standard vs honors vs AP).

Beginning on Monday, February 8th, counselors will meet “individually” (in breakout rooms) with students during their English and Social Studies zoom classes (we will start with current freshmen).. A schedule by teacher/period will be published by Tuesday, February 2nd at 5pm on the registration tab. If your student does not have English or Social Studies this semester at RJR, his/her counselor will arrange a meeting over zoom. If students are absent on their assigned day, counselors will build their schedules based on their online registration. Students who do not register online or attend a meeting, will be registered for classes by their counselor in accordance with their graduation plan.

Students should come to these meetings prepared, with potential classes entered on-line and questions to ask their counselor. Videos, brochures, and the registration handbook will be on the registration tab to help with course selection and registration.

Transcripts will be mailed to current 10th and 11th grade students on February 9th. Current 9th grade students can review their progress towards graduation via their report cards.

Registration for current students will be concluded by March 6th and all course changes must be submitted by March 10th.

Registration for incoming students will be handled by middle school counselors (WSFCS public school students) or RJR counselors (charter/homeschool/independent school students).

Students will drop off any materials from 1st semester that are no longer needed for class and pick up any needed 2nd semester materials on Wednesday, 2/3.
