Preparing for a new role with Wycliffe

Our hope is for Courtney to begin instructing student pilots this September. He would be training and mentoring missionary pilot students at Moody Bible Institute's aviation program in Spokane, Washington. Until then, we are relying on God to bring us more partners to meet our Wycliffe budget requirements in order to begin this new work. So then, we are seeking to increase our financial and prayer partner team by sharing our ministry with churches, groups and individuals.

Moody's aviation's purpose is to train missionary pilots and mechanics to serve all over the world where aviation is the only link to isolated people.

We would be grateful if you would prayerfully consider advocating for us to your church or circle of friends and we are glad to travel to you in order to share.

Wycliffe Bible Translators exists to see the Bible translated in every language that needs one. Our hearts have linked into this vision also and we are hopeful that all the people groups on the island of Papua where we served for 11 years, and people all over the world, will have a Bible of their own sooner rather than later. We are ready to continue in the efforts of Bible translation. Our move to the states has not changed our interest to contribute to the worldwide project.

Below is a video of how translation projects were advanced and some projects completed in 2020 even in spite of the changes Covid-19 brought on. Check out this short video and see.

Family Life

The week before Christmas we moved into a new home. In this case, "We" means our family of five, Beth's parents, and Beth's brother's family of four. In collaborating we are helping one another, helping our parents as needed in preparation as they age, and easing the costs of living for each family unit.

The grandparents and Beth's brother's family live on the main floor. We live downstairs and have an adequate living area. Our kitchen is currently being installed and later on, a small addition for one more needed bedroom will be done.  We're often asked how it's going in this living arrangement, and we can honestly say it has been good and worth it! Some friends have also said they've often thought of multi-generational living for their own families. There has been a lot of good times together, good conversation, laughter, and making up for time spent away from each other.  Part of our reason for moving back to the states was to get our children established and make roots here. It is now a season for family and it has been so good for them to be close to grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins.

Praise & Prayer Items

- Praise God for our church that we felt led to be a part of. Beth's cousin newly planted a church last fall and we are helping it start and will be helping organize a missions program soon at the church.
- Praise God for connecting us to a couple of new financial partners recently. Our team is growing!

- Pray for our children as they face going to a new school. Pray for godly friendships. Pray for them to learn to trust God in this new experience and choose to live in a close relationship with Jesus.

- Pray safety over us and all who work at our home during construction and remodeling.
- Pray for new opportunities to share our potential aviation work for Bible translation. Pray for new partners to connect with. Pray for us to grow closer to the Lord, grow in wisdom, and in promoting Jesus with all who are around us.

Thank you for all of your prayers and support that are enabling us to do a part to help Bible translation projects!
