Welcome Cynthia Cochran-Carney
Reading Opening Prayer Dan Crawford, liturgist
Holy and Gracious God,
you are the maker of us all, and we are your creation,
people formed in your image, as individuals, as community;
formed and fed and furnished with understanding of who you are.
We gather in recognition of your calling,
of your communicating,
of your inviting us to share in your creative and healing work.
We are here because we have heard you speak in us and through others.
Help us to ever respond to you
and your invitation to amazing grace.
Holy One of all our moments, of our days and our nights,
you speak and you act in the world around us,
not only to call all people to you,
but also to direct and guide us in the way of healing and wholeness.
Awaken us to hear what you would say to us.
Help us to open our ears, our eyes, and our hearts to your presence.
Help us to know when it is your voice we are hearing
and it when it is our prejudices and egos to which we are paying heed.
We pray that our church may rise up with renewed commitment
in answer to your call,
and that we may be instruments of your grace and love in the world.
Today we remember those early disciples who left their fishing nets
to follow Jesus.
Remind us that in answering your call,
we often leave
the known for the unknown,
the oasis for the wilderness
the comfortable for the uncertain,
the long-held attitudes for deeper truths.
And then you call us to know
your streams of living water,
your deeply rooted love,
your cup overflowing with joy,
your daily offering of peace.
Open us each day to your love and light.
Amen.

Deep Green Champion - Special Recognition of FPCSR by MCE Clean Energy
We are honored to be recognized by MCE Clean Energy. MCE is a public, not-for-profit electricity provider that gives all PG&E electric customers (residential, commercial, and municipal) the choice of having 60% to 100% of their electricity supplied from clean, renewable sources—such as solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermal, and hydroelectric—at competitive rates. They operate in 4 Bay Area counties: Napa, Marin, Contra Costa, and Solano. Special thanks to Ralph Purdy, FPCSR Green Team member, for providing information to MCE.
