Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, which occurs forty days after our celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas. The feast is also known as Candlemas Day. Candlemas day occurs on the 2nd of February and it marks the halfway point between the shortest day and the spring equinox.

You may attend Mass in person.
The Sunday Mass will also continue to be live-streamed.

We are able to accommodate up to 25 people each week for Mass. We will need volunteers to check people in each week, take them to their seats, and people to stay afterward to sanitize the church. Contact Michael Prendergast if interested in attending Mass and volunteering for these tasks, mprendergast@archdpdx.org. Masks are required, with social distancing and contact tracing.

Message from Amalia:
This year cookie sales will be different. In Oregon, Girl Scouts won't be at stores. Anyone can order from my website and have cookies shipped to their door.
You can also order for "Deliver in person." For this option you'll come to the small St Andrew parking lot on Saturday, February 27 from 11 am - 12:30 pm and Sunday, February 28 from 12:30 to 2 pm. If those dates don't work and you live in NE Portland, I can deliver your cookies to you. Thank you for helping me reach my cookie goals!   Amalia Kleinhenz

On Not Making Nice

Why White Women Have to Hold Each Other Accountable Now and For All Time

by Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin

KEEP SHOWING UP FOR RACIAL JUSTICE!!!
We have heard from black friends they are worried now that Biden has been elected white people will stop actively supporting and listening to them.
Things are not "back to normal". Keep showing up to demand we dismantle systemic racism in this country!

Just Faith Ministries Presents: “Black Progress and Racial Backlash.” Bob Hunter offers a presentation about Carol Anderson's book, White Rage: The Unspoken Truth about the Racial Divide, in which she argues that racial unrest is often a response to black progress. We will explore Anderson’s argument and consider how to intercept this cycle of black progress and white rage.
Register hereThursday, February 18, 4 PM

(NOTE this conflicts with our 4 PM demonstration for racial justice. Register and you'll receive a recording of the webinar which you can then watch at your convenience.
