Dear Parents,

Our in school attendance is now very low dropping from 80% to 64% and 74% to 60% in Primary and Secondary respectively. This change results from the growing numbers of people testing Covid positive and being quarantined as close contacts as well as families making the personal decision to move to online learning.

As we trace the patterns of infection it seems that most are still taking place outside of the school at social gatherings and at parties at home. Please may I reinforce the importance of sticking closely to the regulations as we do at School.

May I also remind families that they simply cannot send children into school while they are waiting for test results to be sent to the children’s parents. This is irresponsible and puts us all at risk.

There have also been some few cases where the language that is being used when speaking with members of our Covid crisis team, our School Doctor and our nurses has been abusive. Any future incidents will be followed up and these essential teams have been advised not to continue any discussion with parents who are being insulting or who refuse to accept the safety guidelines that we upheld.

Please let us all stay safe and maintain all sensible regulations at this difficult time. We are in this together. Please do not put others at risk.

Matthew Farthing
Principal
