Mindfully Return to Outdoor Exercise
& Use Your Self-Therapy Tools!
As the weather gets nicer and many of us are drawn outside again to walk, run, bike, etc...remember to work back slowly. Suddenly doing too much too fast (even if it feels really great in the moment) can cause symptoms & flare ups that can stop you from being able to get outside and enjoy yourself. Taking a few weeks to work back up to your usual outdoor exercise will really help you feel good all spring & summer long.
For example, if you usually walk outside for an hour everyday but you haven't walked like that for the last month or so, consider these suggestions:
~start back with a shorter walk
~walk every couple days or every other day
~work back to your full daily walk slowly & mindfully
~use your self therapy tools to soften up the fascia and muscles
You'll be more likely to tighten up as you start back to outdoor exercise if you've taken all winter off. If you don't know how to relieve your pain and tightness with MFR self-therapy or your not getting the results you hope for contact me to set up a virtual treatment call/text 630-915-1469 or email me at info@bodyfirstmfr.com
