Good day Companions!
As we enter this new year of fun filled events please remember to hold July 11th aside for our 200th anniversary celebration at Borio's !! With all of the talk of people out there getting scheduled for or getting vaccinated I have high hopes for this event happening. We are continuing to plan this as we go along. You should have received the trestle board for 2021 by this point, if not please contact our Secretary for a copy. Our next zoom meeting, after this is published, is going to be February 23rd at 7:30, watch for the link!
I want to thank RE Chris Heberle for the RAM education programs he has been putting together for us for our meetings. This has proven to be a great way to stay fresh in today's world. Please remember to also read through your parts if you are an officer to keep fresh for when the day does come and we finally are able to open back up again.

Companions,
We have seen another month go by and the virus is getting worse by the day with more people getting sick and many more dying. I think we were told a few months back it's no big deal it's over and done, to move on, boy would I love to. The good thing is the vaccines are coming, slow but they are coming.
The meeting this month will be for council and I'm not sure if it will happen at this time. In February, we will be setup a zoom meeting for Royal Arch. We will try to get the information out to the companions that would like to attend. It's good to see our Companion’s faces again even if it's only on screens. I still think we may be able to meet on the level in Chapter and Lodge rooms starting in June.
I don't have much more to pass along at this time. We should be using this time off to be studying our ritual books to keep our minds sharp. So, I will close now with hopes that everyone will stay well and safe

Greetings and Salutations Companions of Charles H. Platt Chapter #247,
The New Year has begun with new hopes and new expectations. At the time of this article’s composition, with almost two weeks into 2021, these hopes and expectations still remain with ever increasing uncertainty. For those who have concerns over unexpected, surprising and distressing current events taking place in our nation, and I may add, in our personal lives as well, I offer this observation using the game of chess as comparison: The “Great I Am" is the consummate chess master. No matter what happens here on earth the “Great I Am" has a countermove for EVERY situation we may unintentionally or rebelliously cause. When His Sovereign purposes are fulfilled and the “game” has concluded He will victoriously declare “Check Mate”. So be strong Companions. Keep in your hearts and put into practice your Faith with Royal Arch ideals and principals.
When this article appears in THE WORD the DDGHP, R∴E∴Rick Powell’s Official Visit, slated for Thursday, January 21 at 7:30 PM, as well as our next chapter's convocation, which will be another virtually Zoomed event scheduled for Wednesday, the 27th of January at 7:30 PM will have taken place. Even-though our Grand High Priest, M∴E∴David Raymond has left to the discretion of individual chapters the decision to meet in person, it is still questionable as to when our chapter will be able to do so in February and beyond. As soon as I receive any authoritative information concerning in-person convocations I will pass it along to my fellow companions immediately.
Since last month’s article publication, the final decision has been made on our Chapter’s 150th Anniversary Commemorative Coin design. As I understand it, the coins will sell for $5 per coin. Kudos and accolades go to our Scribe and Past High Priest E∴Richard M. Torrey and Brother Mike Toron, owner of Minuteman Press/Masonic Printer for bringing this project from conception to actualization. It is Brother Mike’s company who will produce the coins.
The Anniversary Re-dedication Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Skaneateles Masonic Temple, 13 East Genesee Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152 with a celebratory reception to follow at the Marietta House, 2819 State Route 174, Marietta, NY 13110. The social hour commences at 12:30 PM with the luncheon immediately following at 1:00 PM.
