This is an outstanding c. 1899 Chinese manuscript view of the city of Qingdao (Tsingtao), China, as it appeared early in the German colonial period. Best early nautical chart of Singapore.

This 1857 nautical chart or maritime map of the Strait of Singapore and the southern part of the Malacca Strait is considered to be James Horsburgh's most desirable chart. Made for the British East India Company, this is one of the first charts to accurately map these heavily trafficked but treacherous straits. The chart covers the Malay peninsula roughly from Penang (Prince of Wales Island) to the island of Singapore and from the Sumatran coast to the China Sea. PRICE: 5000.00 USD

This is a 1941 William H. Wise and Company and Admiral Robert E. Peary round double-sided globe map of the world as of December 8, 1941, the day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Each side depicts one of the Earth's hemispheres, with the nations of the world labeled and delineated by black dotted and dashed lines. This is an attractive 1967, special edition, Joseph Anthony Aiena re-envisioning of the famous 'Persac Map' or 'Norman Map', illustrating the plantations on the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Natchez. The map is divided into two sections. The left section covers from Natchez to Baton Rouge, and the right section from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. A very attractive 1845 view of Jerusalem issued by Nathaniel Whittock. The view, purportedly drawn by the Librarian of the Armenian Convent, looks northward on Jerusalem from a hill to the south, in Bethlehem. The city walls, Dome of the Rock, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are recognizable. This is a rare c. 1957 map of India, Southeast Asia, the East Indies, and the Philippines intended to propagandize the achievements of the 'Colombo Plan' - a multinational economic initiative intended to foster social and economic development in the Asia-Pacific region. The map is entirely in Chinese and is presumably intended to propagandize the Colombo Plan to a Chinese audience. Coverage extends from the Indus Valley to the Philippines and from Nepal to Java and Timor. PRICE: 950.00 USD

This is a c. 1967 Chinese anti-American propaganda broadside created by Zhu Yu Lian. The map depicts the region from Laos and Cambodia to the South China Sea and from China to the Cà Mau Peninsula. Both North Vietnam (Orange) and South Vietnam (Red) are included. Three colors are present in South Vietnam: red, teal, and white. PRICE: 750.00 USD

This is an uncommon 1883 U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey nautical chart or maritime map of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The map depicts from Hyannis to Chatham Port and south to include most of Nantucket Island to Old Man's Shoal, with the exception of the western-most part of the island, which extends beyond the map's scope. Primarily concerned with coastal information, the map nonetheless offers detail throughout with topography extending several miles inland. PRICE: 700.00 USD

This is a 1951 first edition of the William Henry Jackson and Howard Roscoe Driggs pictorial map of the Pony Express. The map depicts the region from the Pacific Ocean to Kansas City, Missouri, and from Platte Bridge, Wyoming to San Francisco Bay. The Pony Express Route itself is highlighted in red and most of the 190 stations along the way are identified. This is Robert Wilkinson's lovely, first edition 1794 map of Switzerland. The map shows the country and its neighbors on the eve of Napoleonic invasion of 1798. The French tried to centralize authority in Switzerland by forming the Helvetic Republic (1798 – 1803). Until then, the area consisted of independent cantons united by a loose military alliance. Printed on both recto and verso, this folding pamphlet map covers the area in detail, noting island, communities, causeways, roads, parks, lakes, municipal buildings, and more. The recto (front) covers from North Kendall Drive and Key Biscayne to the La Gorce Country Club. The verso (back) extends the map northward from La Gorce to the Dade / Broward border. We are generalist antiquarians dealing in historic maps from all over the world and in all price ranges. Our enthusiasm, passion and devotion to scholarship is expressed in our meticulously researched studies of each map offering.  
Geographicus welcomes clients by appointment at our Brooklyn location.  Our hours are Noon to 6PM Monday through Friday, but other appointments, including evenings and weekends, are typically available on request.

We are located in the ground floor of a limestone townhouse in the historic Stuyvesant Heights district of Brooklyn.  The closest subway stop is Gates Avenue on the J train.  Commuting time is about 20 minutes from the Financial District.
