Hey guys!

Hope you've had a good week since I last wrote. We've got a few news items of interest including more info on the Flower and Garden Festival for this year. It's interesting that Disney is extending it into the summer season this time, This may be because the festivals are good for being outside and socially-distanced and also because they're so popular with locals and right now they make up a larger percentage of park guests than is typical. We've also got some updates on the return of water parks which will be great as it starts warming up for Spring and Summer visitors. Let's get to the news!

This Week's News

Dates for Flower & Garden Festival: The annual Spring festival will be back at Epcot this year with a longer run time than ever before. Starting March 3 and continuing through July 5 you'll be able to enjoy the gorgeous topiaries and plantings that are Epcot at its most beautiful, and of course, try all the yummy new food and drink options. All the details are in this article, but the highlights include 20 food kitchens for this year, lots of fun topiaries and gardens, as well as the continued performances from Voices of Liberty in America, and the return of Spike the Bee's scavenger hunt.

Blizzard Beach Reopening: For the first time since Disney closed for Covid last March they will be reopening one of the water parks. Blizzard Beach will open its doors on March 7th and tickets are now on sale. The one-day tickets are $69 for adults, and good until the end of the year. Details and links to purchase are here

Valentine's Day Treats: For the next few weeks there will be special offerings for Valentine's Day at all the parks and many of the resorts as well. I was surprised how many things were on this list and so many look amazing like that adorable mini UP cake from Amorette's Patisserie in Disney Springs pictured above. See the full Foodie Guide here

M&M Store opened: The giant candy store is officially opened at Disney Springs. It's a fun addition to the shopping area and its unique themed treats that will likely be popular with many tourists. It's located near the Splitsville Bowling area of Disney Springs.

Soulful Celebration: As part of Black History Month in February, and to tie into their newest movie release, Soul, Disney is starting a "Soulful Celebration" featuring the new Jazz display now open at Epcot, as well as entertainment and treats at Disney Springs. You can see the full list here.

Peoplemover Refurb Extended: Sadly, the closure of the Peoplemover in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom has been extended through Feb. 28th according to Disney's calendar.

Updates to Face Mask Policy: Disney has added a few small changes to their face covering requirements including the fact that they will be required even by those who have had the vaccine, and that clear masks that allow you to see the person's mouth are allowed. You can see the full details on face coverings here.

In case you missed it:

Lion King Show Returning: In some of the best news of the week, Disney announced the upcoming return of the Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom. The show will be back sometime this summer with some modifications. There will be adjustments to the show on stage and backstage, including updates to choreography to allow for appropriate physical distancing. The audience seating will also be adjusted in the theater similar to what they've done with the other shows that have been able to return.

Jungle Cruise Update: The Jungle Cruise is a classic attraction at both Disney World and Disneyland, and we just found out that there will be some updates and additions in store for this year. Disney has a video in their article here, but basically, they plan to include new adventures with some of the skippers we know and love- adding them straight into the story while updating a few key scenes in the attraction.

You'll see a new ad below for travel booking- I've officially partnered with About the Memories TravelJen Filling who owns the agency has been booking my personal travel for years now. I had contemplated partnering with an agency for a while now, but never have because I wanted to be able to ensure whoever I was sending my readers to would be really good and knowledgeable about the parks. Many travel agencies are so huge, with tons of agents who have varying levels of knowledge of WDW.

So when Jen decided to open up her own agency I was super excited. When you book with them, I know you'll be given to excellent agents who know their stuff and will take good care of you guys. They can be as involved in planning as you need them to be- so it works even for those who are pros.  I can't tell you how helpful it is to use a good travel agent! That's why I book all my stuff through them, even though I know the parks so well. They know the resorts far better and monitor specials and deals. Plus when things change, (like they did when the parks closed) they take care of contacting Disney and making any arrangements. If you were among the many who have spent hours on hold with Disney waiting to adjust a reservation or ask a question then you know the value of that alone. By booking through them I get a small kickback as well so you're supporting my work too. You'll be seeing this in future emails too, so keep it in mind when you have upcoming travel ideas you want to get prices on.

I'll be at Epcot on Wednesday this week enjoying a little more of the Art Festival before it's gone. I'll bring you along on my stories so join me over on Instagram. And if you're on TikTok I'm having a ball over there too.

Thanks as always for reading friends, and have a great week!
