Elections

There are 14 elected positions with a 1-year term. Join your neighbors in making the Arnold Creek neighborhood better for everyone.

Contact Sharon, president@arnoldcreek.org if you would like more information about serving on the neighborhood association board. In order to vote or be elected, you must have attended at least one other meeting in the prior 11 months. Read more.

Eena (Beaver) Festival

Laura Campos will share plans for an Indigenous-led festival planned for later this year to raise awareness about non-human led restoration, share education about Traditional Ecological Knowledge and create a safe, welcoming means to increase BIPOC access to nature in southwest Portland.

View a 44-second video below showing how Beaver dams build climate resiliency by slowing water down and storing it in their ponds and the surrounding riparian area.

Shelter to Housing Continuum

The Shelter to Housing Continuum (S2HC) Project is updating city codes to address the homeless crisis. Several Arnold Creek neighbors sent letters of objection to allowing shelters in open spaces like parks and natural areas.

Ezones Map Correction Project

by Mindy Brooks, City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability

Natural resources like streams, wetlands, plants, trees, and flood areas help move water off private property, store water during flood events, hold hillsides in place, cool the air and provide habitat for wildlife. Protecting these natural resources protects houses, businesses and roads by reducing the risk of flooding and landslides. On some properties, natural resource protections could limit or restrict where new houses or structures may be built.

To find out more about how the City is updating these rules and to see if your property is affected, visit About the Ezones Map Correction Project | Portland.gov. City staff will brief the Planning and Sustainability Commission about the project on Feb. 9 and the PSC will be accepting more public testimony at their hearing on Feb. 23.
