Cogitations - Image Lab Radio Makes Space for Joy via Radio Waves
The show presents cogitations that are "more than reflections —
they are a reflection of a way of life... and an invitation to a joyful experience of our infinitude." In episode 4, Associate Professor of Anthropology Tarek Elhaik speaks with Peter Limbrick, Professor of Film and Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz, on his new book, Arab Modernism as World Cinema: The Films of Moumen Smihi (University of California Press, 2020).

This Week in the Humanities

STS professor Emily Merchant and Classics professor Colin Webster are among six assistant professors in the College of Letters & Science who have been awarded 2021 Hellman Fellowships for early-career faculty.

Merchant is a historian of science and technology in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and a faculty coordinator for the DHI Transcollege Cluster DNA, Race, and Reproduction. Webster researches science, technology and medicine in Greco-Roman antiquity, and coordinates the DHI HumArts Cluster Early Science Workshop.
The upcoming event, "Measuring Up: Defining Project Goals, Objectives, and Metrics" is part of a Winter 2021 Grant Writing Bootcamp hosted by the Office of Research. Watch the DHI events calendar for more events in the series.
