During kitten season we take in pregnant moms, moms who have young kittens, and motherless kittens. Motherless kittens require special medical equipment to care for - such as miracle nipples, kitten milk replacer, and warmers. What We Need This Week?
Need? Well, we don’t NEED this (not like we need cat food, litter, adopters, fosters). But we WANT it!
We’d like the organization that a label maker would afford us. Maybe we could get finished with chores faster and pet some more cats if we had a label maker. Or maybe we’d get finished with chores and play with the label maker. If anyone wants to get it for us, here it is:

Thank You To Those Who Got Us Through Last Year
When it became clear that the pandemic wasn’t going away, people panicked. What if they couldn’t go to work? What if they got laid off or, worse yet, sick? How would they feed their families? Many donors had to let us go.
We panicked right along with everyone else. The shelters closed! Where would we get kitties? How could we afford to help them?
Our largest expenses are payroll and vet bills. We have a fantastic staff and dedicated vets who give us amazing discounts. To ask any of these people to work for free in the face of a global pandemic was unconscionable. To let go of them meant aborting our mission. Of course, the animals would not survive in that case. Nor, I think, would I.
Over the y ears, we have come to depend on many people for help. Our largest contributor is The Juried Foundation, created by Nick Juried and his late wife, and managed by Nick and their daughter, Amy. I contacted them and asked for an additional large donation because I was scared. They had already contributed to Amplify Austin, but they immediately sent an additional $4,000! Summers are always challenging, but this helped get us through a really tough summer. The Juried Foundation also donates monthly, and they gave us another large contribution at year’s end. We’re suckers for kitties in pain, who are abandoned, who look hopeless. That’s our mission: helping cats who have nowhere else to turn. In 2020, with the shelters closed, there were a lot of cats who fit that description. Adult cats who had no issues were spayed/neutered, returned to their homes, fed, and monitored. Kittens or those with medical problems we took in and sent to our vets for help.
Those vet bills ran up fast in 2020! Another major donor, Jennifer Pospisil, graciously paid so many of our vet bills last year! All I had to do was email or call her and she would call one of the vets and put our balance on her card. Thank you so much, Jennifer!
 The Andrew Delaney Foundation, managed by Janet, daughter of the late Andrew Delaney, has bailed us out time and again also. This foundation has already pledged monies for two events this year, Amplify Austin and #GivingTuesday. Thank you very much, Janet!
While we’re very grateful to our major donors, we are still plugging for monthly donations. (The above contributors donate monthly also.) A minimum suggested donation is $10.53 a month, which is $10 plus fees. The relative fee goes down as the donation amount goes up.
