We appreciate all your support past, present and future! The KDP and our business community have worked hard to stay positive and keep things going.
We have moved into Phase 2 which allows for 25% capacity for indoor activities, including dining, fitness, theatres and more. Please check with in with your favorite Downtown Kent businesses to see if they have made adjustments.
Lets stay vigilant to keep businesses open and COVID activity trending down. Keep in mind that the state will evaluate status every two weeks and can move us back to Phase 1 if we aren’t meeting their criteria.
Come say hi to our businesses, they need your support! Meanwhile, if you have an ideas on how to help our community and business thrive, send us a note! We'd love to hear from you. Email us HERE
We have a new website!
Beyond the improved layout and overall scheme, we've made it easier to navigate to the info you're looking for. We've also added a business searchability feature like who has outdoor seating, which businesses are black/minority owned, who's open during Covid and more.
We'll continue to add and fine tune! Check it out HERE
There's still time to sign up! This Saturday at 9:00 am.
Social distancing protocols required. All activities will be outdoors. Bring your mask and garden gloves strongly encouraged; we'll have some available as well.

February is Black History Month
If you pay even a little attention to current social affairs and American politics you know we still have much work to do in order to live up to the "everybody is created equal" creed. The lessons of Black History Month provide us with a way forward by examining our past. This is a perfect time to honor past achievements, unite in the present and inspire everyone to believe in the power of shaping the future.
Here are few ways you can get involved:
1. Support a black owned business (search our website!)
2. Read Dr. Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream Speech"
3, Donate to a black organization
4. Read a book by a black author
5. Support a black creative artist, maker or musician
6. Sign up to receive E-news from a black owned company or organization.
7. Cook a soul food meal (get inspired at Altha's Louisiana Spices and Deli

BUSINESS OWNERS - TAX CREDIT OPPORTUNITY
The Main Street Tax Credit Incentive Program allows businesses to take a 75% tax credit against their State B&O Tax obligations for donations made to a designated WA Main Street program - like us! This is GREAT way to self direct your taxes to keep them in your community.
Donations through this program are key in allowing us to keep working for our community in 2021. We're bringing you events like Inside OUT - Open Air Dining and Marketplace, Street of Treats, Flower Baskets, Tents, out door parklets and hoping we can do some additional events when state restrictions are lifted,
Your business does not have to be in Kent to participate! Let us tell you more about it how it works. Please contact Executive Director, Gaila Gutierrez HERE
