17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

Faith Lutheran Church has a brand new website. It just went live on Friday, at 12:30 pm.

It is designed to be a LOT more functional, a LOT easier to add new stuff, and it all looks and functions the same way on all devices – computers, tablets, or cell phones.

Bear in mind, our new website is a work in progress, which means we will be adding new pages often for many days ahead. I decided to go live rather than wait until we have “everything” we could think of. So, expect lots of additions.

I could use your help. Right now, I am a team of one, me (design, graphics, content). Is there something on our site you think we need or you would like to see? Send me an email at carl.schneider@faithmarietta.org describing it, or better yet, send me a link from another church’s website. I am pretty good and borrowing great stuff from other churches.

I hope and pray that this new site will help our guests and our entire Faith family.

Pastor Carl

Note:  Beginning July 29, all adults entering the school buildings will be required to wear a face mask and have a temperature check.

Red Letter Challenge is coming
Sunday, February 21st!

Two weeks away from starting the Red Letter Challenge.

The books are sitting in my office. The teams are about to emerge, groups will be forming in the next two weeks, and with the first Sunday in Lent, February 21, the Red Letter Challenge will begin.

For six weeks, our worship, daily devotions, and our Connection Group (live and Zoom) will be focusing on the red letters in the gospels - the words of Jesus.

Are you interested in being in a zoom connection group, or is your preference for a live connection group? Let me know your preference. Email me at carl.schneider@faithmarietta.org. Would you be willing to be a host? If you are, email me at carl.schneider@faithmarietta.org.

We want everyone to have an opportunity to be in a connection.

I am genuinely looking forward to our Lenten journey together.

Pastor Carl

Social Ministry

JUST ONE THING

It was brought to my attention earlier this week that the food pantry at Brumby Food Pantry was at a critical point. The need is getting greater not better for those in need. The food bank is stretched so thin they only were able to send out this week, pinto beans, canned fruit, grits, a small carton of cherry tomatoes and a fresh head of cabbage. That is all the groceries families would have received this week if it weren’t for Faith Lutheran and the 50 bags of groceries we were able to put together from the continued generous donations we have received here at Faith. Although over 300 families were expected to come for food.  If you could please shop and clean out your pantries  we can continue to help support this important mission. It truly breaks my heart to think that families could be suffering this way.

Hearts for Jesus

The focus of the 2020/2021 World Mission/Hearts for Jesus chapel program will be Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” During the program, students “travel” to four remote areas of the world where many people have never heard of Jesus live!  With the help of small radios these countries will hear about Jesus in their languages. They will learn about people who are sharing the love of Jesus in their own areas, in order to follow Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19.

As many of you know school’s chapel offerings and Sunday school donations went to what we have always referred to as our “Mission of the Month.” Since there has been no Sunday school, our contributions are down. If you would like to donate to this campaign just put “Hearts for Jesus” under the Social Ministry line on your envelopes!
