All Saints Episcopal Church Bayside
The Ramsay Report

Monday, February 1, 2021

We hope you have all stayed warm and dry on this snowy first day of February!

On yesterday, January 31, 2021, All Saints celebrated the fourth Sunday after Epiphany with a service online and in-person at 10 a.m.   If you missed yesterday's service, you can just click here.  You can also view/download the bulletin here.

If your circumstances permit, please continue to keep your pledges up to date. You may do so by mail or online. There is a new and streamlined online giving system. Simply click the donate button on the website or click here.

Church School Highlights
There was no new episode of Church School last week, but will return this week with a focus on Candlemas.  You can watch all existing episodes here.

Memorial Spotlight
We continue to celebrate the generous gifts that have been given to glorify God and to further the ministry of All Saints. Today’s highlight is the linen cabinet in the sacristy. Off-season altar sets and the attendant linens for the altar are kept in this very large oak cabinet. It was given to the glory of God and in loving memory Byron R. Newton.

Liturgical Gifts

The Sanctuary Lamp is given by by Stella and Drew to the glory of God and in loving memory of Tom Ramsay.

There is availability for liturgical gifts throughout the year. To offer a thank-offering or memorial, please call the parish office.

This Week at All Saints
Sunday, February 7, 2021
10:00 a.m.

Holy Eucharist, Rite II (In-person and online)

Please don't forget to join us for conversation and fellowship on Zoom (BYOC) immediately following services:   https://zoom.us/j/562246703.

Guidelines for In-person Services
Those that plan on attending in-person Sunday services, you must pre-register by calling the church office (718-229-5631) by the Friday before. Please do not text, e-mail, or call Fr. Byrne’s mobile phone. For it to work, we have to have one centralized method of tracking attendance.  Diocesan regulations mandate a maximum of 25 people in the service.

In addition to the earlier reminder, one other thing the Bishop is asking of all of us is to be aware of the "hot zones" and if you are living in one of those orange or red zones to refrain from coming to church. To see the latest status of your location, visit this website: https://covidhotspotlookup.health.ny.gov/#/home

We are doing everything correctly here, and will remain in live/online mode as long as possible.  Thank you for caring for each other by hanging in with the restrictions.

Yesterday also saw the return of Major Tom's Coffee House with an online live audience via Zoom.  If you missed the 31st installment, never fear.... you can catch the replay right here.

The February- April edition of Forward Day by Day is available in the Narthex.

Why not get a jump start on Lenten disciplines and begin a daily reading habit?

Pre-orders for DVDs of the pageant will be available for sale in the narthex or by calling the parish office. As we must cover production costs, we ask that orders be pre-paid. DVDs are $15.00. Proceeds will benefit the Church School.

Offering Envelopes / Year-end Statements
If you have not already done so, please pick up your 2021 offering envelopes from the church office Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Picking up your envelopes saves about $3.00 per box in mailing costs.

New to the Narthex this week- 2020 Year end statements. Please pick them up if you can.

The Bottom of the Barrel
...is not something we want to see. As your circumstances permit, please continue to bring food for the food pantry. Food insecurity is a growing concern for many people right now.

Mother Karen (the new rector at Grace) shared with the Deanery clergy that demand at the food pantry is way up. All Saints has been a generous supplier, and hope we can continue to be.

Show your parish pride with “Church Merch,” “Sacred Swag” or whatever you call a great collection of custom T-shirts, drink-ware, and more available at the All Saints Shop! Visit via our website. Each item you buy helps to fund our mission and ministry.

The Ramsay Report is also looking for breaking news!  Have updates or information to share with the congregation, please email it to Stephanie.tonnesen@gmail.com.  Please put Ramsay Report News in the subject line.  Thanks!

Have a wonderful week!
