Village Care

A family of Christ-followers who care for one another as Christ loves the church.
We want to share some of the ways we express that care here at Village.

Please click below to see all of the ways we can connect with each other! We are constantly discovering more ways to share the love of Christ with those at Village and those around us. If we missed your ministry or you have an idea for us, please contact our Co-Directors of Pastoral Care, Jim Clementson and Nancy Anderson. They are here to support and encourage you as you live out what John says in I John 3:11 – “For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning that we should love one another.” “And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.” (I John 3:23)

Welcome Baby Boxes

Sunday, February 7 from 12:00pm -1:30pm
Sunday, February 14 from 12:00pm -1:30pm

In partnership, Village Distribution Center and Village Kids desire to support mothers who welcomed a new baby into their family in 2020 and/or are expecting in 2021. We hope to bless mothers in our Village family, local friends of Villagers, and mother's connected to neighboring churches without children's ministry resources.

Please consider partnering with us in one of two ways:
Request a Baby Box
Donate items for Baby Boxes

We will be collecting Baby Box items on Sunday, February 7 from 12:00pm -1:30pm in the upper parking lot. Mother's receiving Baby Boxes will be notified directly and invited to pick up their gifts on Sunday, February 14 from 12:00pm -1:30pm in the upper lot. Please prayerfully consider participating in this ministry.

Vaccine Clinic Volunteers Needed

Ongoing opportunity

Four hospital organizations in Portland are conducting a massive COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Oregon Convention Center and they need help! At this time, they are seeking community volunteers who are available at least once a week for a 4-hour shift at the Oregon Convention Center in Northeast Portland for both weekdays and weekends. This is an unpaid, non-clinical volunteer role and duties may include: escorting and directing patients through the process, pushing wheelchairs, disinfecting high-use areas, checking in patients as they arrive, and cheerleading. Your support allows staff to do the important task of getting the vaccine into people’s arms! If you have a desire to volunteer in that capacity, please find specific info below.

Condolences

Please keep these individuals and their families in your prayers this week.

Please join us in prayer for Wonjae Kang and family in the passing of his father, Kyung Ku Kang, on January 23. A funeral was held for his Dad on January 28 in Arizona.

Join Dolly Wyttenberg and family in praise to God for taking her brother, Vernon, safely to Heaven. Vernon died in Huntington Beach, CA on January 17. Of six kids in the family, he was fifth and Dolly was the youngest. She is now the lone survivor of her birth family. Pray for God’s peace and comfort for her, Gene, and the extended family.

We wish to express our condolence to Dale and Martha Himes in the homegoing of his brother, Ken, in Corvallis January 27. Dale would appreciate prayer for the family - Ken's wife, Mary, and daughters, Deborah and Erin and their families.

We extend our love and prayer for the Friesen family in the homegoing of Helen on February 2. She was surrounded by her family as they sang and prayed her into heaven. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Walt, last March. Both have been long-time members of Village and were the founders/owners of the two Hearthstone communities. Memorial plans are pending.
