Endowment Fund Announces
Funds are Available
to Make Grants during 2021

The year 2020 was a good year for the Endowment Fund.  Investments grew significantly during the year and funds have been approved for making grants during the coming year.  If you or your Church group have projects/activities that you feel are worthy of being funded with an Endowment grant, you can submit your written grant request for consideration by the Endowment Committee through the Church office or directly to a committee member.  The committee will be meeting in late April to consider any requests received.  You may present your request to the committee when they meet or have a member of the committee present it for you.

ENDOWMENT FUND GRANT REQUESTS

Endowment Fund grant applications should explain the amount of funds requested with details about the church needs and use of the funds.

OPEN TABLE Curbside Pick-Up
Every Saturday Aldersgate Parking lot.
5 pm
Open Table served 53 meals and provided bags of groceries for each household in our drive-through on Saturday, January 23. Thank you to everyone who helped with this important ministry!

The Pantry is low on canned fruit, tuna, chicken, soups, pasta and sauce. Some guests would also greatly appreciate loaves of bread and milk. Our help is important especially now when their needs are being relegated to the back burner.
Alisha Vance at 214-641-5675. If you can't be there in person, another way to help is to donate to our food pantry.  A bag is handed out with the meals.
Thank you church family!

First Methodist School Visits the Rainforest!

Kindergarten students learned all about the locations, plants, and animals of the rainforests!  They observed a live orchid plant, a rainforest native!

We are currently enrolling for the 2020-2021 school year (ages 1 year - kindergarten)!   If you know a family with young children, please tell them about our school so they can learn and grow with us!

We are taking extensive measures in accordance with the CDC and the Dallas County Health Department guidelines to make our learning environment as safe as possible.   We are learning and growing and happy to see everyone again!

FLAMBOYANCE OF FLAMINGOS

Over the last couple of months, a flamboyance of flamingos has descended on the yards of some of our First Church families, beginning with Pastor Abril. The Secret Ninja are dedicated to spreading joy during this time when things are "just not right" and reminding folks that they are loved and missed by FUMD. See how many yards you can recognize!

If you have hosted these visions of pink perfection and have photos, please share them by forwarding to communications@fumcd.com

Keep calm and flamingo on!
