Dear Neighbors,

John DeGraaf has written four books and countless articles for such prominent publications as The Nation, New York Times, Sierra, Huff Post, UTNE Reader, Earth Island Institute, and Common Dreams. John's books include Affluenza, Take Back Your Time and What's the Economy For Anyway?.
John is currently working on a new documentary, and has been keeping a watchful eye on American culture as it moves through this COVID-19 pandemic. His experience as a social activist over several decades brings a rare perspective to where we have been and where we are going with a special interest in the value of personal happiness and consumerism's unfulfilled promises.
John DeGraaf's numerous awards include Best Local Public Television Program in the US. His over 50 documentaries have earned him the the distinction of an honorary annual namesake award at North America's largest environmental film festival, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
